Chapter 302
Olivia looked away from Ethan and focused all her energy on Jacob. “When do you ankle injury will heal?” she
asked.

“If you stay off of it for a couple of days and make sure to elevate and ice it, then it should be fine by Monday,”
Jacob said as he grabbed another ice pack from the freezer. “But you must not try to walk on it right now. You're
much more likely to injure it, and if you do, you might break the bone when it's weak.”
Olivia tried to smile, but it cout more of a grimace. “I promise I'll be careful.”
Hearing this, Ethan took his chance to interject. “You could recover better if you quit your job-which is where you
were injured, might | add-and cback to work for me. I promise that you will have minimal duties and you will
be able to relax at my company.

A surge of irritation ran through Olivia at her ex-husband’s suggestion. She opened her mouth to shut him down
but decided that it would be better to simply ignore him. Maybe then he would go away.
Jacob wanted to intervene but didn’t want to escalate the situation. He was almost finished anyway. He applied a
numbing cream to Olivia's ankle to help with the pain. Jacob handed Olivia the tube of cream.
“Apply this twice a day,” he instructed her. “It will help with sof the pain and ensure that you won't move
your ankle as much.”
Jacob helped Olivia to the front desk so that she could pay.

pointed to Ethan, who was standing by her side.
Olivia huffed out an annoyed sigh. She glared at Ethan and mumbled that she could take care of her own bill
under her breath. But when she looked back at Jacob, she smiled. “Thank you so much for your help today.”
“Of course. Just stay off your ankle until it's recovered, and it should heal just fine,” Jacob said and held the door
open for her.

Ethan ignored this. He fixed a wide smile onto his face. “Why don’t | walk you to our alma mater? It's right next
