Chapter 187: Chapter 187: All | Want Is You

Kael's POV~

Half the night passed, and | was still standing there like a damn fool. | didn’t move. Didn't go back. Because |

couldn't.

| just stood there, staring at that window like it would suddenly tellthe truth.

My body was stiff, my mind going in circles. What if it really was her? What if | had seen wrong? | didn’t know,

and that was killinginside.

The light in that room had gone dark a few times already. Maybe she went to sleep. Maybe someone else went

in. 1 didn’t care anymore. | just needed to see it once. Just one look. If I didn’t, I'd suffocate.

| let out a breath and looked around at the silent courtyard. The guards were there but too lazy, half asleep. |

could move faster than them anyway. Climbing a wall wasn’t anything for me. It was like walking straight on the

ground.

So, before | could think twice, I moved.

My boots made no sound. My body knew what to do; the movements were sharp and practiced. Within seconds, |

was up the side wall, slipping through the shadows like smoke.

And then | was inside.

The air smelled soft and warm. It was a girl's room.

| blinked once, looking around... pale curtains, flowers on the table, shiny little trinkets, and silk sheets.

Everything screamed delicate.

Definitely a girl’s room.

And not just any girl.

The way it was decorated, the colors, the details...it had status written all over it. In this palace, you could tell

who someone was just by how their room looked. And this one... this one was close to the Elder Lycan Prince's

wing.

So she had to be someone important.

| walked slowly, my boots soft against the carpet, until | reached the bed. My heart thumped like it was ready to

break my ribs.

There she was.

A small figure sleeping soundly, back turned to me.

I froze.

Was it her? Those eyes... the ones | saw earlier. Were they hers?

| didn’t even know when | bent closer, my breath shaking a little. | just needed to confirm. Just see her face once.

And then she moved.

She turned, slowly, the moonlight falling right across her face, and | swear my breath stopped cold.

Ssilver, long hair. Sskin tone.

Even her lips. Gods. Even that.

It was like the world had stopped.

Before | even realized it, | was too close... too damn close. My hand shook a little. My chest hurt like something

was bursting inside me. My wolf was howling inside, but | didn’t know if it was from pain or shock.

And then her eyes opened.

Silver. Exactly the ssilver.

For a second, | forgot how to breathe.

She gasped, ready to scream...but my hand was already on her mouth. Whether it was instinct or pure reflex. |

didn’t even think.

Before | knew it, | was on her bed, pinning her down completely, one hand over her mouth, the other holding her

wrists so tight she couldn't move.

Her eyes widened, but all | could do was stare into her beautiful angry eyes. Yes, they were glaring atwith

the sfierceness | remembered.

It was her. It had to be her.

Everything insidewas shaking. My heart was going wild, my breath uneven. She looked exactly the same,

not just her face but every damn detail. If | roam my hand on her only, | will remember each detail that is fixed

somewhere in my heart.

How could that be possible?

| whispered, half lost in my own head, "What's your name?"

She glared atwith the sfiery look. Then before | could realize the warning in her eyes, she bithard.

Her teeth sank right into my palm, and | hissed, pulling my hand back.

Her glare burned throughlike a flame. And I... | still couldn't stop looking.

Before she could even say a word, | heard myself whisper again like | was afraid of my own voice. "Are you real?"

And | didn’t wait for her answer.

My body moved on its own. My lips crashed against hers. It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t gentle. It was desperate,

like | needed to feel she was real, that | wasn’t dreaming again.

Her lips were warm and soft, as | remember.

Her lips trembled against mine, but this tnot from fear, but from breath.

The sound she made was soft and unsure, and something insidebroke wide open.

Her scent filled me, wrapping around like a fog | never wanted to leave.

It was sweet, clean, and faintly wild, like rain on fresh petals. | could drown in it. Maybe | already was.

Without meaning to, my fingers found hers. Her hand was so small, so fragile inside mine, and yet she held

back...gripping my hand like she didn’t want to let go either. Our fingers fit together too easily, like they already

knew how.

My other hand moved before | could think. It found her small waist; her skin was warm against me, trembling

under my touch. It felt too delicate and too precious, and my hold tightened just a little, like | was afraid she

might disappear if | didn't.

Her nightgown brushed against my wrist, the fabric thin, slipping slightly from her shoulder. Moonlight kissed her

skin, pale and soft, and | had to look away for a second because it felt too much, too close to something I'd once

lost.

But she didn’t pull away.

She just stared atwith her silver eyes shining in the dark like stars. Angry, maybe. Confused. But so

breathtaking that even her anger looked beautiful.

My chest ached. | wanted to say something, anything, but the words were gone. All | could do was look at her.

It was the way her hair fell over her cheek, the way her lips parted slightly from our kiss, and the way her eyes

caught the light.

Gods, she looked unreal.

| raised a trembling hand and brushed my thumb just below her eye; it was a tiny, shaky touch.

"Don’t look atlike that," | whispered, my voice rough. "You’ll makeforget what's real."

She didn’t answer. But she didn’t turn away either.

And in that silence, | realized how much | have yearned for her, that even if she stood in front ofwith a

different face, | could still recognize her. Now | realized this is not just a mate bond; it was my yearning for her.

That even if her scent or face was different.

| would still be drawn to her like a moth to the flame. Just one look from her eyes can dragto her.

For a second, everything was still.

Then, before | could blink, she moved.

One quick motion... faster than | expected... and suddenly, | was the one pinned to the bed.

Her hands pressed against my chest, her weight over me. The air left my lungs in one short breath.

| stared up at her, stunned. She wasn’t weak. Not even close.

"Afraid?" | whispered. "No. You could scream all you want... | still wouldn't move."

Her eyes flashed. "I will scream."

"Then scream," | said in a rougher voice now. "But I'll still be here. Because | already found you."

Her hand tightened a little just in warning. "You're insane."

"Maybe," | breathed, eyes locked on hers. "But you're the reason for it."

For a heartbeat, silence.

Only her uneven breath brushing against my skin. Her scent mixed with mine, filling the small space between us.

She leaned closer, her silver hair brushing my cheek, her lips close enough that | could feel every word.

"I don’t remember having any obsessed man around me," she said slowly. "And definitely not one who sneaks

into bedrooms."

| laughed softly, almost under my breath. "Guess your memory’s as cruel as your grip."

She frowned, but | saw that tiny flicker in her eyes. The way her heart stuttered for a second, sas mine.

Her hand stayed on my neck, but it wasn’t a threat anymore.

It felt like a hold, a claim of the kind | didn’t want her to let go of.

"Selene..." | said her nsoftly, almost reverently. "You can hateall you want. But don’t pretend you don’t

remember me."

She froze, her breath catching for just a moment, and that was enough.

Enough to tell| wasn’t alone in this madness.
