Chapter 300
He ran into Gai when the elevator opened on their floor.
“Ive been looking for you,” Gai said, a little out of breath.
Alexander immediately tensed when he noticed the worried look in her eyes. His pulse quickened at the fact that
he couldn't find Olivia. Did Gai’s news have something to do with her?
“Olivia had to leave early,” Gai said. “She's...”
Gai was about to say that Olivia had sprained her foot, but then she remembered the flare of panic on her face
when she had mentioned going on a business trip with Alexander. She quickly thought up a lie, not wanting to
reveal Olivia's medical history to Alexander if her friend didn’t want him to know.
“Why?” Alexander asked. “Is she alright?”
“She’s fine,” Gai assured him, making sure that her voice was calm and steady. “She is having really bad
cramps. She needed to go hand lie down.”

Alexander narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms. He began to pace the waiting room.
Gai's legs began to tremble, scared that Alexander would see through her lie.
After a few moments, Alexander turned to Gai with an unreadable expression. “I don’t believe you,” he said
simply, then walked back to his office, shutting the door behind him.
Alexander knew that Olivia wouldnt have gone hunless it was something really serious. She had too much
work ethic for that. His mind raced with the possibilities. What if she was in the hospital seriously injured?
Unable to be cooped up in the office another second, Alexander rushed out, intending to find Gai and demand to
know if Olivia was alright.
He stopped short when he saw that Gai was staring out the window. Alexander followed her gaze, and his

“Is that where Olivia is?” he asked.

When Olivia saw that the man sitting beside her in the waiting room was Ethan, she wasn’t even surprised. Of
course, he would track her down here.
He was insane enough to track her down in two locations all in one day. She shook her head at how truly crazy
her ex-husband had proven himself to be tand tagain.
The only thing that Olivia could think to do was ignore Ethan. Maybe if she didn’t give him what he was looking
for, then he would stop harassing her. Olivia took out her phone, pulled up a game, and pretended to
concentrate on it. She acted like she didn’t even notice Ethan sitting right beside her.
But as she swiped her screen, pretending to play the colorful game, her mind raced. How had Ethan been able to
find her twice in one day? Had he installed a tracker on her phone? How else could he have found her so easily?
Annoyance surged through her. Ethan was like a pesky fly that kept buzzing around her. She imagined swatting
him with a big fly swatter to amuse herself from her rising panic brought on by being followed by her ex-
husband.
Then, Jacob cout of the backroom with paperwork for Olivia to fill out. He spotted Ethan and thought that he
was just another potential customer.
“Hello, there,” Jacob said. “How can | help you today?”
Ethan glared at Olivia, who was still giving him the cold shoulder, and he crossed his arms, sulking like a little
kid. “My problem isn’t on the outside. Someone is makingfeel bad on the inside.” He shot another look at
Olivia, hoping this got her attention.
Jacob's eyebrows raised. “Um...” All throughout his long career, he had never heard anything like that before.
“I'm in no hurry to get my ankle wrapped,” Olivia said, wanting any excuse to get Ethan away from her. “You can
treat this gentleman first. He looks sick to me.
Jacob looked between his two customers as his confusion grew. He had no idea the history between them. The
man did look familiar, but he couldnt place him. A surge of protectiveness over Olivia flowed through him since
he knew her when she was young. He didn’t want to get involved with whatever was going on between them,
not because he was scared of the man, but he didn’t want to cause a scene. That would just make it worse for

“Wait, Olivia, I-” Ethan began to say, but Jacob interrupted him in his friendly customer service voice.
“I'll be with you when I'm finished with her, Sir. Just sit right.”
Olivia gratefully put most of her weight on Jacob as he helped her to the back room she had originally been in.
“Are you alright?” Jacob asked as soon as the door was shut. “Do you wantto kick that guy out?”

“I'm alright,” she assured him. “Just a misunderstanding.”
Jacob squinted his eyes. He didn’t believe her, but he let the subject drop, not wanting to upset her.
“Alright, let's massage that ankle,” he said and sat in a small black swivel chair. “I have to warn you, this is going
to hurt. A lot.”
Olivia tried to prepare herself by taking a deep breath. “I can take it.”
“Okay, get ready,” Jacob said.
But as soon as his warm hands were around her ankle, Olivia wanted to scream bloody murder.
