Chapter 835: "Okay," he said calmly.
And with that, the arrangements were made.
As they left the hospital, Elissa turned toward him, gratitude written across her face. "Mr. Flynn, thank you. Truly... I'm so grateful." Ernest glanced at her briefly, his lashes lifting just slightly. "Okay," he replied again, evenly.

Hadley couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. She had noticed it too. Ernest wasn't exactly talkative to begin with, but even by his standards, he was being unusually quiet around Elissa. Yet there was no trace of irritation or impatience in him.
Still curious, Hadley glanced over at Ernest again-and then she saw it. His ears were faintly red.

Blanche's hand, mid-lift with her cup, froze in place. Her eyes narrowed. "Resign?" she echoed, her voice low and disbelieving. "Did I hear that right?" In a blink, her usual grace turned sharp-commanding.
"I trusted you, Hadley," Blanche said coldly. "I put my non the line to send you to that show. Don't tellyou've been seduced by the glitz of entertainment—”
"No! Ms. Nicolson, it's not like that!" Hadley's voice cracked as she blurted it out, unable to hold it any longer. "I'm pregnant." Blanche sat frozen, her gaze instinctively dropping to Hadley's abdomen.
