Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Fighting with Vaelen !!

The silence that had fallen after Arlena’s outburst didn’t last long.

From the edges of the training ground, a few of the warriors started murmuring among themselves. One of them

finally spoke out loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Alpha Vaelen, you were too harsh on her," he said, half-laughing. "She's just a girl blinded by love for you."

Another chimed in with a chuckle. "And what a girl. Only Alpha Vaelen would reject a hot beauty like that."

Laughter rippled through the group. A third man smirked and joined in, "If it were us, we'd have already been

under her skirt. She's been throwing herself at you for years, Alpha. Why waste the chance?"

The others joined in, their sarcastic remarks mixing with crude snickers.

Serena's stomach tightened. She understood enough of their meaning to feel heat crawl up her face,

embarrassment and anger tangling together.

But before she could even flinch, Vaelen’s hand cdown firmly, covering her ears. Her entire body stiffened,

his frtowering like a wall between her and their jeering voices.

He glared at them and warned them.

"If you want to get under her skirt so much," he snapped, "then go and fuck her yourselves for all | care."

But someone was still in the mode of joking, not realizing how dark Vaelen’s face looked. "But she doesn’t want

us. She only wants you, Alpha."

Vaelen’s jaw ticked, his patience thinning.

"Not my problem. And don’t you dare say such disgusting words in front ofagain." His eyes burned like fire

as he swept them all in a single glare. "If you've got so much tto run your rotten mouths, then run your

rotten asses out of here and chase after any she-wolf you want. But not here in my ground."

With that he slowly lowered his hand from Serena’s ears, still keeping her close behind him. His chest heaved

once, twice, but his voice when he finally spoke to her was quieter, though no less firm.

"Come. You don’t need to hear any of their filth."

"And forget about her," he said flatly. His voice was cold, but there was a sharp edge beneath it. "Treat her like a

barking dog. Don’t take her words to heart. She always acts like that."

Serena looked up at him, seeing his expression, and didn’t dare to ask more. Who that girl really was, she could

find out later. Right now, she didn’t want to waste even a single thought on someone like her.

And it seemed Vaelen felt the same. He clearly didn’t want to talk about Arlena anymore.

So instead, he turned straight to her. "Do you want to fight? Or do you know any basics? | can teach you."

Serena's eyes lit up. This was exactly what she had been waiting for. She nodded quickly. "I've practiced by

myself. I'm quite good. But | want to train further."

Vaelen gave a small nod. "Let's check how good you are at close combat then." His eyes narrowed a little. "Do

you want to fight with me? | want to see how far you've gone."

"Yes," Serena said at once, her expression bright with excitement.

"Good," Vaelen said. "I will not go hard on my baby sister."

She gave a small scowl. "I'm not a baby."

He chuckled, shaking his head. "You're still my baby sister."

"Stop callingthat."

"Fine, fine," he said with another laugh. "Then fight as my sister."

She lifted her chin proudly. "You start."

Vaelen raised a brow but didn’t refuse. He stepped forward, his body moving into position. Then the fight began.

At first, he went easy. His strikes were measured, not too fast, just enough to test her balance. But to his

surprise, Serena dodged everything. Every single move. Her body twisted lightly, her feet slid in just the right

spot, her eyes never leaving his.

He frowned slightly, then increased his speed. Still, she dodged without any panic.

"You're really good at this," he muttered, his voice carrying genuine shock.

"Don’t just defend," he added quickly. "Try to attack."

And then she did.

Serena’s movements sharpened. She threw a punch, then another. Her kicks were clean, her footwork strong.

Soon it wasn't just practice anymore...it had beca real fight. Their movements clashed harder, faster, and

sharper.

The sound of their combat rang through the ground. And slowly, more and more eyes turned toward them.

Vaelen was shocked to his core. Her attacks weren't wild or sloppy. They were clean and dangerous. And twice

she had almost landed a strike on him...if not for his intense training and fast reflexes, he would have been hit.

And then, she surprised him completely.

A sudden kick landed on his leg, throwing his balance for a second. Before he could recover, Serena slid under

his arm, ready to end the fight in one swift move.

He froze. His guard dropped, not because he was weak, but because he was stunned.

And then her voice rang out, clear and certain. "I win."

Serena blushed and looked down. "I told you | was good."

Before he could say more, loud hoots and cheers erupted around them.

Another laughed, "She almost beat him!"

And more whistles and claps followed, echoing in the air.

She turned to Vaelen, glaring a little in embarrassment. "That's why you went easy on me, isn't it?"

Her heart jumped at his words.

He wasn’t lying. He had actually fought her seriously. And yet she had still managed to surprise him.
