Chapter 86 Chapter 86 +25 BONUS Kris felt as if a bucket of ice-cold water had been dumped over him, his eyes widening in shock at Thalassa's words. He searched her face, hoping this was skind of cruel joke, but the fire in her eyes told him she was deadly serious.

"What are you waiting for?" she snapped, breaking the silence. "If you truly want our dead child, wherever they are, to see that you cared, then make their murderer pay. Have your mother arrested!" Kris's stomach churned with bitterness; he couldn't believe she was demanding such a thing of him. As much as he knew she wasn't going to like his next words, he knew he had to say them.

"Thalassa, I understand that my mother can be prejudiced and hard to please sometimes. She can be anything you want to accuse her of, but she is not a murderer. She would never wish harm on anyone, especially not her grandchild." Thalassa let out a bitter chuckle as she wiped the tears from her face. "Especially not her grandchild? Kris, she was the one who convinced you that I was lying about my pregnancy." "Yes, but that's because we all thought you had betrayed our family. Even I believed it," Kris reminded her, biting his lip. "But I swear, if we had known you were truly pregnant, she would have been the first to tellnot to let you go." He paused, searching for any sign of understanding in her eyes. "My mother has always wanted to be a grandmother. She would never reject her own grandchild, much less try to harm it. You should see how she is with Tessa. She loves and adores her." Thalassa's lips curled into a cold smirk. “Oh Tessa, such a lucky girl. She was born to someone your mother didn't disapprove of, otherwise she would've been just as despised as my unorn child." Kris sighed, feeling a wave of frustration. "My mother would never hurt her grandchild simply because she didn't like you. Thalassa, she might be prejudiced, but she's not a monster. She's not a bad person." Before he could finish, Thalassa began nodding her head in agreement, surprising him.

"You're right, she's not a monster..." she agreed, her voice softening for a moment before her eyes flashed with blazing hatred. "...because she's worse than a monster. She's hatedfrom the day you told her we were dating. She orchestrated the plan where Karen took those pictures ofwith that man. She fabricated evidence to havearrested for a crI didn't commit. And even if you don't believe me, I stand by my belief that she sent that man to attack me!" Kris's heart sank at the venom in her words. "I'm sorry, but you can't just accuse my mother like that." "I'm not just accusing her," Thalassa shot back as she furiously pulled out her phone from her purse. She opened the recordingand played the conversation she'd had with Karen, skipping to the incriminating parts.

"Thalassa, I could have let that man rape you. That's what Linda wanted, but I didn't. I strictly warned him not to because, despite everything, you were still my friend, and I didn't want to harm you," Karen's voice confessed.

"So what, Karen? Am I supposed to be grateful that you didn't allow that man to rapebut instead violated my 1/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 86 privacy and assaulted me?" *Silence* "And what about my unborn child, Karen? You and Linda sent that man to attack me, and you killed my baby!" "No! I promise I had nothing to do with it," Karen denied. Linda sent that man to attack you, but she never toldanything beforehand. It wasn't until the next day that she told me. I was horrified and told her she shouldn't have done it, but she said killing your child was the only way to ensure you didn't return to trap Kris again." Thalassa paused the recording and looked back at Kris, her eyes hard. "Did you hear that? That's how much your mother hatedand wantedout of your life!" She thought this was it. That surely, Kris would finally believe her now, but he looked back at her with an incredulous look of his own.

"So you believe my mother is responsible for everything that happened to you because Karen told you so?" he asked, shaking his head. "Thalassa, Karen was clearly trying to gain your pity so you'd get her out of jail. I can't believe you're trusting her again after all she did to you. After all she did to separate us." A look of determination entered his eyes. "I think it was Karen. She sent that man to attack you, and now she's trying to pin it all on my mother to avoid paying for it. Please, we can't let her manipulate us again." Thalassa had thought she couldn't be more disappointed, but she had been wrong. She should've know better. She should've known that he would never believe the truths about his mother.

"How about you stop letting your mother manipulate you? she suggested bitterly.

Kris's heart sank, realizing he hadn't made any headway. He understood her anger but felt helpless to change her mind.

He pressed his lips together. "Thalassa, I know you're hurting, and you want justice. Believe me, so do I. Just like I had Karen arrested, I'll do everything I can to make the real culprit pay. But you can't blmy mother for everything that happens to you." Thalassa's glare intensified. “You might be fooled by your mother's fake innocence, but not me. I will make sure she pays for my child's death." Kris stiffened at her threatening tone. As much as he loved her and wanted her forgiveness, he couldn't allow her to cross any line "I won't let you hurt my mother, Thalassa. I'll defend her if I have to."

Thalassa felt as though a knife had been driven into her chest. Ao m self-deprecating smile-tugged at her lips. How could she have believed his regret was genuine? "I see," she chuckled darkly. "So all this remorse and begging for my forgiveness was just a show to protect your mother?" Kris's eyes widened. "What? No, of course not. Lassa..."

"I already told you not to callthat again," Thalassa hissed, her voice as cold as the look in her eyes. Only the people I care about have that privilege." 2/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 86 Her meaning was clear: he was not one of those people.

The realization hit him like a punch to the gut, leaving him frozen in place, unable to move or speak as he watched her and Luisa get into their car and drive away. Today's Bonus Offer GET IT NOW X
