Chapter 1163
His calloused fingertips brushed against the delicate skin of her forehead, sending shivers down her
spine and causing her heart to race in a fluttering rhythm that seemed to lose its regular beat.
She clutched the bed sheets behind her, holding on until Lysander straightened up and put some
distance between them. Only then did her pulse begin to settle.
Lysander looked down and saw she inhale through that oxygen mask. He asked with his deep,
magnetic voice, “Are you hungry?”
The doctor had said that after a few minutes of oxygen session, she could remove the mask and eat.
Thalassa shook her head; she wasn’t hun l

But she was still tethered to the oxygen, unable to move, and it was getting urgent.
“Point to where it hurts,” Lysander said, his voice laced with concern as he noticed the furrow in her

She lifted her hand and pointed towards the restroom. She needed to go there badly.
Understanding dawned on Lysander as he sat on the edge of the bed, picked up the oxygen tank, and,
with a surprising assertiveness, scooped her into his arms.
Thalassa was caught off guard by this sudden, domineering move. She had been prepared to wait until
after her oxygen session to relieve herself.
But Lysander, seemingly more anxious than she was, hoisted the oxygen tank and carried her off
towards the restroom with determined strides.
Startled, she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck for balance, lest she fall.
As she looked up at him, her eyes wide with disbelief. She could see the chiseled profile of his face,
which was attractively sharp and alluring.
Her heart wavered just by gazing at him.
While she was lost in her thoughts, he kicked open the restroom door, walked in, and gently set her
down on the toilet seat.
Holding the oxygen tank in one hand and keeping the mask secure on her face with the other, he
maintained a stooped posture by her side.
Thalassa was taken aback while she was looking at his tall frame crouched before her in an awkward
position. It was hard to imagine anything making Lysander, a man of such power and stature, bend so
humbly.

Yet here he was, squatting before her, simply to ensure she could use the restroom comfortably.
“What are you waiting for? Need help?” Lysander’s piercing gaze met hers.
Thalassa caught her breath and was suddenly self-conscious. She quickly averted her eyes, looking
down at the baggy hospital pants she was wearing.

She knew Lysander meant for her to undress and use the toilet, but with him squatting right there, how
could she possibly go about it?
Reading her hesitation, Lysander’s deep voice broke the silence again, “What’s there to be shy about?
I’ve seen it all before.”
Thalassa was taken aback. Her cheeks flushed even redder.
It was mortifying indeed. To have someone watch while using the restroom was embarrassing enough,
let alone when that someone was Lysander.
But the juice she’d consumed earlier was pressing urgently upon her, and the thought of an accident
was far more humiliating.
Putting embarrassment aside, she stood up, slid down her pants, and sat on the toilet
seat.
Her face was burning with shame, and yet Lysander, with one hand on the oxygen tank and the other
securing the mask to her face, appeared completely unfazed, showing no sign of disgust.
Thalassa hung her head low, her gaze falling to the floor, only to notice something odd about Lysander
‘s stance.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she looked up with concern as she studied Lysander standing before
her.
