Chapter 817
Just when the silence in the room became palpable, the door swung open. Four adorable children scampered out,
their tiny legs carrying them at a surprisingly swift pace.
“Mommy, look! Grandma made me a paper boat! And it can float on water, too!” Elowen held aloft a boat made
from newspaper, her chubby fingers barely able to contain its size. Her excitement was infectious. Her mouth
opened wide in joyous laughter. As she rán, her pigtails bobbed with her movements, adding to her charm.
“Mommy, I love my fan! It’s so cool and breezy!” Sophia clutched a colorful paper fan in her tiny hands, running
towards Thalassa while fanning herself. Her short hair flew up in the breeze she created, and even as someone who
was usually timid, her smile was radiant at this moment.
“And I have a heart! Just like the love I have for Mommy and Grandma!” Dorian held a red paper heart above his

“Mommy, I have a gun!” Even Atticus was brimming with joy, a sight Thalassa saw rarely.
The children, each with their favorite toys, rushed towards the sofa and dove into Thalassa’s arms in unison. Their
soft, chubby faces nestled against Thalassa, some against her chest, others pressing against her face. Like
marshmallows, their soft and sweet touch filled Thalassa’s embrace.
Any humiliation or panic Thalassa had felt earlier had been replaced by the children’s joy, healing her and leaving
behind only love. She wrapped her arms around the little ones, a happy, loving smile gracing her lips. “Grandma
made these for you. As long as you all are happy, that’s all that matters.”
“Yeah, I love it!” Elowen affirmed, nodding her head vigorously. Her eyes sparkled as she spoke..
Evelyn emerged from the house, and this warm sight greeted her. She watched as the children cuddled into
Thalassa’s embrace, a smile creeping onto her face. The scene warmed her heart, yet tears welled up in her eyes.
In the past few days, Bruce and his wife’s affairs and Thalassa giving Lysander four children yet unable to marry
him significantly weighed down Evelyn.
She locked herself up, occasionally shedding silent tears. Thankfully, thoughts of the children consoled her, their
love healing her heart.
She had made origami toys for the children out of scrap paper to distract herself. As she folded each toy, she
imagined their joyous faces when they received them. Their happiness was indeed as she had imagined, filling her
with contentment.
Lysander sat beside Thalassa, but the children only had eyes for Thalassa. They sprinted past him and did not even
look at him, let alone pounce into his embrace.
Seeing them cuddling into her and their affectionate gestures softened Lysander’s eyes.
Just as the room was filled with peace and harmony, Lysander’s phone rang, shattering the calm. Thalassa and

Lysander’s intimidating presence. A hint of apprehension crept into their joy.
Lysander answered the call, placing it on speaker and leaving it on the sofa. He then took out the pack of cigarettes
from his pocket.
“Mr. Sinclair, we’ve uncovered everything about Bruce and Evelyn’s recent issues,” David reported.
“Go on, Lysander instructed, igniting his cigarette.
“Sometime back, Evelyn and Bruce met at a location arranged by the dating website. A fight broke out, with Evelyn
landing a blow on Bruce’s head. Thalassa arrived in time to rush Bruce to the hospital. Bruce lost quite a bit of
blood and needed a transfusion, but strangely enough, Thalassa’s blood type was not a match…” David’s voice
echoed from the phone.
Thalassa’s heart almost jumped to her throat, her eyes darting towards Lysander. Had he been investigating
Bruce’s injury?
Could Lysander find out that she was not Bruce’s daughter?
