"What's on your mind?" A deep, magnetic voice suddenly broke the silence beside her.
Thalassa snapped back to reality, meeting Lysander's gaze. Quickly pushing aside her swirling thoughts, she managed a smile and said, "Nothing much." "Were you thinking about Leopold?" Lysander asked out of the blue.
Thalassa was taken aback, hurriedly replying, "No, not at all..." Lysander's expression darkened, and Thalassa, worried he might misunderstand, quickly added, "I was just wondering why Alaric's mother ended up in the orphanage." She wasn't lying; that was exactly what she had been thinking about.
She couldn't fathom why Lysander would bring up Leopold out of nowhere.
His nhadn't cup between them in ages.

"Really? I thought that scene earlier might have reminded you of him," Lysander remarked.
That scene? Recalling the moment when Susan was sitting by the window, holding her child, it did stir painful memories within Thalassa.
The image of Leopold's passing is something she doubted she'd ever forget.
But her feelings towards Leopold had long since evolved from love to something else entirely.
"The disaster at Leossa Electronics was entirely Leopold's fault. Yet, you took all the blupon yourself to protect his reputation. You've kept silent all these years. Does it not weigh on you?" Thalassa found herself staring into Lysander's eyes, her voice taking on a sorrowful tone.
They had never directly discussed this matter since the truth cto light.
She hadn't expressed understanding or cleared up any misunderstandings face-to-face, and Lysander had never mentioned anything about it either.
Had he not brought up Leopold today, he might never have addressed this secret with her.
Lysander's gaze was steady on her, not surprised by her words, but the frost in his eyes seemed to dissipate slightly.
"I don't feel wronged," he finally said.
After Leopold's death, Thalassa was furious with him for a long time, blaming him for what happennes Leopold, and they had their share of disagreements about it.

Thalassa shook her head, "No one told me, I overheard it myself." "That day at the hospital, I overheard Amelia and Payton talking." "Which day?" Lysander insisted.
Thalassa hesitated before replying, "The day you were supposed to marry Rosalind." As soon as she finished speaking, Lysander's eyes narrowed, "So, that's why you crashed the wedding?" There it was, the reason for her wedding-crashing escapade, now out in the open for Lysander to scrutinize.
Facing Lysander's piercing gaze, Thalassa felt a sudden wave of guilt and turned away, stammering, "It wasn't just because of that..."
Hearing about Lysander's impending marriage to Rosalind had already upset her greatly, and she had no desire to see them united in matrimony. However, it wasn't until she caught wind of that conversation that she found the resolve to intervene decisively.
Her explanations seemed futile now, as Lysander, with a flick of his wrist,
turned her face towards his, his breath warm on her skin, "If it hadn't been for overhearing Amelia and Payton at the hospital, would now be officially married to Rosalind?" His tone was far from casual; it was laden with accusation and annoyance.
He had believed that her crashing the wedding stemmed from a profound love for him, that it was love that drove her to whisk him away from the altar. X
