and thought I’d check on you. See if you’ve been working hard to make money. Otherwise,
how can I stay comfortably at home?”
Amanda saw a layer of sweat on his forehead and couldn’t help but assist him.

“Yeah, I’ll listen to my wife. I’ll work on my temper.” Elias picked up her delicate hand and
started playing with her fingers as if examining some precious artifact with great care.
Amanda smiled. Seeing Elias like this, she couldn’t bear to let Casey come between them
and destroy their marriage. Absolutely not.
Elias suddenly spoke, “There’s a jewelry auction tomorrow. Would you like to go? I’ll buy
you a ring.”
“No need. I’m not interested in these things. I already have one to wear.”
