Chapter 451
| was part of this family. They all welcomedwith open arms, and yet | always had this tiny little feeling that |
still didn’t belong. For example, right now | was sat out the back on my own and had been for the last 20 minutes
or so.
| could hear the laughter and chatter from inside. Everyone getting along and having a good tand yet here |
was sitting by myself. Don’t getwrong | wasn’t expecting anyone to check onbut a part ofwanted to
be involved or at least feel involved.
| was sick of feeling like the odd one out.
| didn’t know whether to share my feelings with Jake for them to be brushed off with a compliment or a silly
remark ofoverreacting. He was good with words, good at makingthink | was overthinking everything.
Usually, | was. | thought too much about every situation, but | couldn’t help it. | had done so since | was little. |
was sick of repeating the sthoughts over and over in my head.
| was important to this pack and yet most of the t| felt invisible. My dad was leaving tonight and maybe just
maybe the right thing forto do was go with him.
He may be the answer to help with my wolf. Not only that but he could teachhow to be what | am.

okay sweetheart?”.
| hadn't talked with Evelyn yet; the house was too busy for us to grab the time.
“Fine”. | nodded.
“Too busy in there for you to?”. She asked.
“Something like that. How are you doing?”. | asked.
“Are you sure you're okay Leah?”.
“Is it that obvious?”. | sighed.
“You just don’t seem yourself sweetheart. | just want to make sure everything is okay”.
“I've just been thinking about stuff”. | spoke.
“What sort of stuff?”.
“I'm not sure if you're aware but-...”. | paused. Was there any point in telling her how | feel? It’s not even about
how | feel it's everything. Why was | so disconnected from my wolf.
“Your wolf?”. She asked.
Okay, so maybe she was aware.
“You know what it doesn’t matter. I'm going to-...”.
“Sit back down Leah”.
And | did. My bum hit the seat so quickly.
“Having trouble connecting with your wolf?”. She asked.
“Yes”. | sighed. “Nothing works but anger. | can’t shift unless I'm provoked. My senses are rubbish; my eyesight
isn’t enhanced. | swear sometimes | wonder if | really am a werewolf”.
“Oh, you are sweetheart”. A light laugh fell from her lips. “You may not be as well connected as everyone else,
but you will be. You didn’t find out about it all this until a few months ago. All the people inside knew from the
minute they could walk”.
“Yeah, but | feel nothing which is why I'm going to stay with my dad for a few weeks”.
“You're leaving Jake?”.
“What, no”. | frowned. “But-...". | chewed the inside of my cheek. “I need to do this; | need to spend tand get
to know the other side of my family. And who knows maybe they can help”.
“Jake should be the one teaching you Leah along with your pack. They should be the ones encouraging you and
training with you. You are going to be running this pack one day by Jake's side”.
Ouch. It was the first t| had noticed the tone in her voice change. | wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a
bad thing. | wasn’t exactly going to get into it with her.
