Every doctor and medical team treating Kelly had been carefully picked by her. There was absolutely no way
Carter would be able to trace anything.
The only problem would clater-when she didn’t actually die.
But this encounter with that phony doctor was a stroke of luck; it gave her the perfect excuse to escape the
mess of not being ” dead” months from now.
Even if Sharon tried to expose her, neither Carter nor Nate would believe it. If anything, they'd probably accuse
Sharon of being cruel and malicious.
Sharon's voice pulled Kelly from her thoughts.
“Carter gave up our marriage and 100 million for Kelly's life. Kelly is so gentle and kind. She might start blaming
herself, might feel she’s nothing but a burden. If she can’t bear the guilt and chooses to die instead of taking the
medicine, what then?”
Nate's face froze. “You're right... Carter gave up so much. Knowing how kind Kelly is, she really might think that
way. No, | need to take full responsibility. I'll make sure she takes her meds from now on, no matter what!”

She'd almost believed it-almost thought Mr. Malcolm was skind of miracle doctor. Turns out, she'd been
worrying for nothing.
And that fool Sharon actually got conned by such an obvious fraud.
