Anthony bent down beside the bed, gently adjusting the blanket over Grace before attempting to lift her into his
arms.
But just as he reached for her, Liam stepped forward. "How do | know you're not lying? How do | know you're
really Grace's friend?"
Anthony raised a brow, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. "Call her boyfriend with her phone and ask him. But Ms.
Lambert can't wait any longer."
Liam didn't like the idea of calling Ed, and his expression darkened. "Then I'm going with you."
Anthony's polite demeanor shifted slightly. His voice was sharper now. "I'm afraid that's a no."
"Why not?"
Liam instantly becalert, stepping in front of Grace with his arms outstretched to shield her. He said, "If you
won't letgo with her, then you're not taking her anywhere."
Anthony pinched the bridge of his nose and stepped aside, pulling out his phone to make a call. His voice
dropped so low that Liam couldn't hear what he was saying, and it made him even more suspicious.
He watched Anthony's face twist in surprise mid-call, his tone rising slightly. "Are you sure this is how you want
to do it?"

Liam didn't know who he was talking to, but whoever it was clearly gave ssort of instruction. Anthony let
out a sigh. "Fine. But don't say | didn't warn you. This could end up being a trigger for a future argument."
When he hung up, he turned back to Liam. "You can come, but you'll have to wait outside the hospital."
Liam didn't want Grace suffering any longer, so he reluctantly nodded.
Anthony reached out again to carry her, but Liam stepped in and scooped her up first. Even though she was
wrapped in a blanket, he knew she only had a towel underneath, and he wasn't about to let a strange man get
that close.
Anthony looked mildly surprised at how protective Liam was. Weren't these two supposed to have a strained
relationship?
Still, he didn't argue. He stepped aside with a respectful nod, gesturing toward the door. "After you."
Liam carried Grace downstairs.
But before they reached the bottom, Andrea cchasing after them. "Liam! Why won't you just listen to me?
You used to do everything | said!"
Liam didn't break stride. He said, "We'll talk when | get back."
Andrea stood frozen in place, seething. It was always Grace-nothing Andrea did would ever be right as long as
she was around.
Furious, she grabbed her phone and dialed Joanne, desperate for advice. But when Joanne heard what Andrea
had done, she exploded.
"You idiot! Liam cares more about that sister of his than anything else, and you dumped cold water on her? You
think being pregnant solves everything? What if Liam turns around and tells you to get rid of the baby?"
Andrea's lips curled into a sneer. She was confident.
"Get rid of the baby? Joanne, you clearly don't know Liam. He follows everything his dad taught him, and his dad
raised him to take responsibility for his actions. He's too kind. He'll never letget rid of his child."
Joanne felt the blood rush to her head-Andrea was a walking disaster. She deeply regretted ever sending her on
this mission. She'd assumed Andrea would be obedient, but this was just pathetic.
Andrea had grown up in a household where boys were favored and girls were treated as if they didn't exist. She
never escaped that mindset and truly believed a woman's only value was in having children.
Joanne clenched her jaw. She needed to find a way to distance herself from this disaster fast.
Andrea hung up, still fuming. She stormed downstairs and spotted the housekeepers tidying up. Her temper
exploded. "What, you all think you're better than me, too? Get out! All of you get out!"
Startled, the staff scattered, grabbing their buckets and clearing out.
Andrea sat alone in the living room, her eyes bloodshot, waiting for Liam to cback.
Meanwhile, Liam had just loaded Grace into the car and was about to climb in himself when Anthony pointed
toward another vehicle. Anthony said, "Mr. Lambert, you'll ride in that one. This one's too tight."
Liam was fuming as he moved to get in the car, but Anthony slammed the door shut in his face, eyes sharp and
cold.
Liam was about to explode and let loose, but before he could get a word out, Anthony slipped into the driver's
seat and just drove off.
He stood there, stunned, his face flushed with rage. He spun around to head for the other car, but it also peeled
off, leaving him behind.
For a moment, he just stood there, frozen, until it hit him-he'd been played.
As he cursed under his breath, he jumped into his own car and took off, trying to catch up. But Anthony was
already gone, and he had no idea which way the car had gone.
He finally slammed to a stop, gripping the steering wheel tightly. He'd been so focused on Grace's condition, he
hadn't even thought about who else was in that
car.
Now, sitting there, regret hit him like a truck. He should've at least gotten a good look at that bastard's face.
