Chapter 0962 +25 BOTRUS The walk to the café felt endless to Lucius. He needed to get there as soon as possible and save Amanda from Angela's interrogation. He was worried she'd dig up embarassing details about his past, and even more worried that Amanda would end up scared of the kind of man he had been under Frank and Leonardo's influence, Anthony had been silent most of the way, only breaking it once to ask about the girl. Lucius knew he had to answer -if he didn't, the man would find out on his own.
"Who is Amanda Hayward?" Moriarty asked without slowing: his pace.
"She's... She's... She's a girl 1 just started seeing," Lucius admitted honestly.
Maximus was surprised. Lucius was never this open with him. The two of them had never had a conversation like this before, but he wasn't going to judge-he just wanted to observe, "From what I know, you've been seeing her for weeks at that café where you do your schoolwork instead of staying at your apartment,” Moriarty said, making it clear he already knew everything, so there was no point in hiding it.
"Yeah, but we only just started going out..." Lucius replied nervously, "Whatever. It's your decision what you do. I promised your mother I'd look out for you and your best interests. But if that means keeping you away from your family and your father... sometimes promises need to be broken," Moriarty said without stopping.
"What do you mean by that?" Maximus asked, intrigued, his eyes full of surprise as he looked at his son.
"I mean that if Lucius wants to go back with you, he can. But he knows his studies will be interrupted again, and he'll have to take that risk," Moriarty said with absolute certainty in his voice.
"Hey! I'm right here, in case you forgot. I'm not a kid anymore," Lucius protested.

"I would never do anything that could harm my son. The decision is his, not mine," Maximus said in response to Moriarty's suggestion.
As much as Maximus wanted Lucius to cback and live with them, he knew that returning would mean losing all the progress he had made at university-just like last time. He couldn't allow that. And even if Lucius decided to follow him, he would talk to him and make him see reason.
"Alright, I think we've arrived at the café where my wife is Moriarty said as he opened the door.
Minutes later, a small child wrapped herself around Moriarty's legs, and the cold, hardened man he showed to the world completely melted, showering his daughter with kisses and hugs.
man.
Maximus was stunned to see this side of Moriarty. Everyone in Valentia knew him as a strict, no-nonsens His personal and family life were rarely discussed-people only knew he was married and had a daughter, but public appearances were scarce.
"My love! Look, I want you to meet Amanda Hayward," Angela said, delighted with the girl.
Amanda extended her hand and greeted the man in front of her properly.
"Nice to meet you! But the person you really need to meet is this man right here... He is Maximus Evans, father of Sebastian Sinclair-your boyfriend," Moriarty said bluntly, not bothering to sugarcoat it.
That statement sent a wave of heat rushing to both Amanda's and Lucius's faces.

He couldn't help but notice something peculiar about her. Her eyes were as blue as Alexia's, but everything else about her reminded him of Mary when she was young "Amanda, are you okay?" Lucius asked, concerned.
While Maximus had just met Moriarty's wife and knew she wouldn't harm a fly, Lucius suspected she was too direct and might make Amanda uncomfortable.
"Of course! We were just having coffee and talking about how rebellious you are! Though I haven't seen any of that -you've been nothing but well-mannered and serious here," Amanda said, not holding back.
Maximus watched, realizing that Amanda was practically Lucius's female counterpart. Educated, yes, but just as bold and outspoken as Lucius had been as a child-before his grandparents got too involved in his life.
"Alright, alright, enough with the introductions. Let's sit down, have sdelicious coffee, and you two tell us how my dear Sebastian and you met," Angela said eagerly.
"Angela, don't take advantage of my situation," Lucius grumbled, seeing how much she enjoyed making him squirm.

"My love, maybe we should leave those topics off the table, Moriarty said calmly, surprising Maximus.
"I met Sebastian-or Lucius, as you call him-at the airport. You probably don't remember... or maybe you didn't even notice, Sebastian," Amanda said, looking at him and taking his hand. "That day, you were with this sman-your sister's husband. You two were arguing heatedly. I had just arrived from a trip, and you were gesturing wildly, shouting about something you disagreed with. In all that commotion, you almost hit me. I stepped aside to dodge you but nearly fell down the stairs. You managed to catchby the waist just in time. We locked eyes, and you toldI had beautiful eyes." Lucius's expression changed as she continued.
"After that, you just straightened up, saw that I was fine, and walked away. You," she said, nodding toward m Moriarty "apologized on his behalf and called him a first-class idiot. You probably wouldn't recognize me, though I had white hair back then and was wearing a mask."
Moriarty and Lucius exchanged looks, both suddenly remembering that day. They no longer recalled what they had been arguing about, probably something ridiculous. At the time, the whole thing had seemed insignificant, but for Amanda, it had been a moment she never forgot. "Wait... You're the girl with the white hair?" Lucius asked in disbelief.
"Yep. That was me-the girl you almost sent tumbling down the stairs,” Amanda said, taking a sip of her coffee.
"You two were arguing? Have I not been clear enough with you both?" Angela said, frowning.
"I don't even remember what we were arguing about," Moriarty admitted, looking at his wife. "Yeah, but you were arguing. Seriously? You two nearly caused an accident!" Angela scolded. "But nothing happened! And here's proof-now these two are together and happy," Moriarty said. "Well... Actually..." Amanda started to say, but before she could continue, Lucius squeezed her hand. "Yes? Tell us," Angela said, intrigued.
2/3 "No... Nothing," Amanda replied, understanding Lucius's silent message.

Maximus simply observed. At times, he felt like an outsider, unable to wrap his head around how he had gone so long without looking for his son. But deep down, he knew Alexia had made the right decision.
