Chapter 358 The next morning, at the Jinerity Hotel.

34% "Winnic, thank goodness Diana ran into Mr. Thompson last night and was rushed to the hospital. Otherwise, we can't even imagine what could have happened!" Mark's serious expression dominated the hotel lobby.

Winnie turned to the elders of the Janssen family. "Dad, Mom, we need to get to the bottom of this. I can't face my in-laws or Aaron without answers!" Aaron stood beside Mark, silent. Last night, he had received a call from Diana, asking him to help retrieve her clothes from her car to take to her room, and he had stumbled upon her door wide open. Inside, there was a suspicious-looking man.

Even though that guy claimed to be a hotel staff member just tidying up, Aaron found it odd. How could they be cleaning the room when the guest had already checked in? With growing concern, he sought out Diana, only to find her in the hallway, clearly under the influence and clinging to him for support.

The only thing he could do was call for her family and rush her to the hospital, where she still had not regained consciousness. The doctor suggested they keep her for observation, saying the drug's effects were too severe.

If it hadn't been him to find her, the situation could have turned dire.

"Oh no!" Lacey suddenly exclaimed. "Could it be that fruit wine was the issue? Ellie said she felt sick last night too and went upstairs with Diana!" Lacey's words sent shockwaves through the group. Aaron was the first to react; he grabbed his phone to call Ellie while racing upstairs.

After Diana's incident, he had called Ellie, and it was only after she assured him she was resting in her room that he felt a sense of relief. But now, that uneasy feeling crushing back! Aaron dashed up the stairs, followed closely by a throng of people. Quinlee trailed behind, her expression grim. Twenty minutes later, they gathered outside Alex's suite.

Their manager approached, trembling. "I'm sorry, Winnie, but the security cameras in the guest area have been intentionally cut. We can't provide any footage. However, the elevator surveillance shows that Ms. Thompson indeed went upstairs." Inside the suite, clothes were strewn everywhere, and a couple slept soundly in the big bed.

Alex was jolted awake by the commotion outside and his phone vibrating on the nightstand. He opened his eyes, feeling like his head might split open, as a chaotic blur of memories flooded back! His gaze fell on the still-asleep Ellie next to him, and mixed emotions surged in his eyes! Last night, he had returned early to handle an urgent contract, and after finishing, he hadn't stepped out again. Only a waiter had cin once to deliver drinks. Not long after he consumed the wine, he sensed something was off.

Desperate to call Barry, he hadn't managed to dial out before Ellie walked into his room.

Lost in the wild recollections of the night, Alex stared at Ellie, an unsettling quietness in his expression. Ignoring the relentless vibrations from his phone, he swallowed hard and pulled the blanket over her.

With the blanket as a barrier, he held her close, burying his face in hem shoulder to hide the blush creeping to his cheeks. With great difficulty, he muttered, "Ellic, I'm sorry."

He bent down, gathering the clothes scattered on the floor. When hem glanced back at Ellie still sleeping on the bed, an uncontainable hurt welled up in his chest!

He had tried so hard to let go, but fate had dragged her back to him!
