Chapter 736 Everyone Uses One Another to Achieve Their Goals

Chapter 736 Everyone Uses One Another to Achieve Their Goals

When Chloe got back to the Sullivan estate, Desmond was exercising in the courtyard.

She pulled up her collar and greeted him, "Morning, Grandpa."

When Desmond heard her voice, he stopped and looked at her worriedly. "Where have you been? Noah has been

up waiting for you all night."

"I was just hanging out with sfriends," Chloe replied, her gaze shifting toward the house. "I'll explain

everything to Noah later. Where is he?"

"I have no idea. He was gone by the t| woke up. Maybe he went to the office..."

Before Desmond could barely finish his sentence, Noah appeared.

Chloe felt relieved and immediately started explaining, "I am so sorry. | thought | would cback last night, but

something cup and | got delayed. I'm sorry for not telling you."

"I'm not worried. | believe you didn't encounter any danger. You were just having fun and got hlate," Noah

said gently, but his voice had a cold edge to it.

Chloe did not notice it. She let out a sigh and glanced at her watch. "It's almost tfor work. Let's have

breakfast before heading to the office."

"I'm not hungry. You go ahead," Noah replied.

"No, you have to have breakfast. It's good for your stomach," Chloe insisted, reaching out to grab Noah. As her

fingers brushed against his clothes, she noticed something unusual and furrowed her brows.

On closer examination, she noticed that his clothes were slightly damp and there was frost on his hair tips and

eyelashes. His eyes remained emotionless as their eyes met, and his face retained its usual air of dignity and

elegance. She could not see through his true emotions.

Chloe asked, "Why are your clothes wet?"

Noah glanced down at his clothes and replied calmly, "Maybe the housekeeper didn't dry them properly."

Chloe found this strange, but Noah did not give her the chance to ask further. "There are surgent

documents | need to review. Findin the garage once you're done with breakfast."

"Okay..."

Chloe suppressed the doubts in her heart as she watched Noah leave. Despite feeling that something was wrong

with him, she was too exhausted and hungry to dwell on it.

Desmond placed a strip of bacon on her plate. "Have smore."

"Thank you, Grandpa," Chloe said as she devoured the food. When she was half full, she wiped her mouth and

said, "I've made up my mind. You're right, Grandpa. I should use Callum to my advantage."

Desmond was taken aback a little. "You've made up your mind? You're not really using him. He owes it to your

mother, so it's only right for him to treat you well."

"He doesn't genuinely want to be good to me. He just wants to ease his guilt," Chloe replied.

Desmond did not refute or agree. After all, no one could truly understand human nature. Everyone was just using

one another to achieve their own goals.

After finishing breakfast, Chloe went to the garage and got into the car’s passenger seat.

"Tellhonestly. Did you go out looking forlast night? Your clothes don't look like they weren't dried

properly. We've been with each other for five years. There's no need to tell lies."

Listening to her words, Noah's fingers on the steering wheel trembled slightly. “I went out in the morning

because | was worried. Where did you go last night?"

Chloe looked out the window and replied, "I was at the house of a former colleague."

"Next time, don't stay out overnight. It's not safe."

Next time? There would not be a next time! She would not be fooled by that father and son ever again!

The journey to the office was silent. As soon as they arrived, Noah pulled out the contract regarding the resort

and handed it to his assistant. "Sell it."
