Old Mr. Quintin could see it too, of course. “Evelyn, no matter what, my previous words still stand. If you don’t want to find your
biological parents, you can continue to live here. We will still be your family.”
Evelyn's eyes reddened, and she nodded with a choked sob. “I just can’t bear to leave you!”
Old Mr. Quintin said quickly, “I understand.”
Evelyn's face was pale. She bit her lower lip, looking pitiful. “Grandfather, I've thought about it myself. I'm not a Quintin, so | can’t
stay here forever. Especially now that your real granddaughter has been found, | have even less reason to stay. But | truly have
nowhere else to go. | can’t go back to my adoptive parents, and | don’t have any other family or friends. | don’t know where |

Her words made Old Mr. Quintin’s heart ache even more. He stepped forward and patted her shoulderfortingly. “If we hadn't
found our Nana, she might have been just like you, without a home. You don’t have to go anywhere. Just stay here. Gia has
found Nana and is very happy right now; she won't hold anything against you. Perhaps you and Sylvia can even be good
sisters in the future.”
Evelyn nodded emphatically. “I won'tpete with Sylvia for anything. I'd be happy to stay here even as a maid.”
“What are you talking about? You've calledgrandfather for months. How could | possibly let you be a maid!” Old Mr. Quintin
Evelyn's tears fell. “Thank you, Grandfather. We must have been family in a past life forto have found my way to you.”
Old Mr. Quintin immediately smiled. “You're right. This is fate!”
“Old Mr. Quintin!” Old Mr. Jarvis spoke up. “I think you should still help Evelyn find her real family. The girl now knows she’s not
biologically related to her adoptive parents, and staying here will make her feel insecure. Who wouldn't want to be with their real
parents?”
Evelyn immediately shook her head. “No, I've always thought of Grandfather as my real family.”
Old Mr. Jarvis smiled, but his gaze was sharp. “You're a strange one, child. You're so affectionate toward Old Mr. Quintin, which
shows you long for family, so why are you so resistant to finding your true relatives?”
Evelyn's face paled. She was stunned for a moment before stammering, “I... | never intended to look for my real family. | figured...
my parents must have givenaway because they didn’t want me. But after spending these past few months with Grandfather,
he’s been so good tothat I'vee to see him as my real family. As for my biological parents, | don’t care whether | find them
or not.”
Old Mr. Jarvis gave a faint smile and said no more.
Old Mr. Quintin said, “Alright. As long as you callgrandfather, you are my granddaughter.”
