Gabriel and Gia were sitting together. A few people approached to offer toasts, but seeing the two of them in conversation,
they decided not to interrupt.
Gabriel leaned back in his chair, looking relaxed. "Why aren't you with Mr. Quintin?"
Gia shook her head faintly. "We haven't seen each other in so long, yet we still fight the moment we do. We must have been
enemies in a past life, carrying our grudges into this one."
She had been genuinely moved when she first saw her father that morning after so many years apart. He was older now, not as
stubborn as he used to be. For a moment, she had thought that maybe she could let go of the past and spend stwith him.
But that thought was quickly shattered. He might be older, but his personality was just as rigid and arrogant as ever, and now he
waspletely wrapped around Evelyn's little finger.
If Evelyn wasn't her daughter, she didn't even know how this whole mess would end.

Gia wasn't surprised by his insight. She poured herself another drink and gave a slight, mocking smile without saying a word.
"I'll handle Sylvia," Gabriel said. "Evelyn's little tricks won't hurt her. You don't need to argue with Mr. Quintin over it. He's already
made up his mind and sees Evelyn as his granddaughter. The way he protects and dotes on her just shows how guilty he feels
about you and Nana."
Gia slowly nodded, realizing he had a point.
"But... | feel nothing for Evelyn. If she were my daughter, even after twenty-syears apart, we should have skind of
connection. But when | look at her, | just can't see her as my Nana."
Gabriel's expression flickered slightly. "The DNA test is happening soon, isn't it? Everything will be clear then."
"Yes," Gia agreed. "At this point, the test is unavoidable."
She looked up and smiled. "And we can't let Estelle's good intentions go to waste."
"She was Mr. Quintin's student, and he always looked after her. It's the least she could do," Gabriel said with a faint smile.
