Estelle suppressed a smile. "Yes. What else could it be?"

When the man's face darkened, his presence becincredibly intimidating. Only Estelle could still manage a smile.

Gabriel continued walking, his lips pressed into a thin line, not saying a word.

Seeing his expression change over a simplement about "mere admiration," Estelle found it unexpectedly amusing.

She caught up to him, tilting her head to look at his tense profile. "Sylvia will be here tomorrow. You can ask her yourself."

Gabriel stopped, turned to look at Estelle, and slowly broke into a smile. "Are you messing with me?"

"One sentence and his whole expression changed!" Estelle remarked with a sense of aplishment. "That's so satisfying!"

Gabriel grinned and reached out to ruffle her hair. "You little rascal, even daring to tease me. It seems you're not afraid ofat all

anymore!"

Estelle dodged his hand. "I was never afraid of you!"

Laughing and talking, they arrived at Old Mr. Jarvis's door. The light inside was indeed still on.

They knocked and went in. Old Mr. Jarvis was at his desk looking at a photo album. Seeing them, he took off his reading glasses

and smiled. "How did you two end uping together?"

"We both wanted toe chat with Grandpa, so it was a happy coincidence," Estelle said with a light smile, taking a seat opposite

him. "What are you looking at, Grandpa?"

Old Mr. Jarvis chuckled. "Looking at photos of you when you were little."

Estelle was surprised and curious. "Photos ofas a child? Howe I've never seen them?"

Gabriel poured two cups of tea, placing one in front of Old Mr. Jarvis and one in front of Estelle. He took a seat as well and said with

a faint smile, "lI don't remember them either!"

Old Mr. Jarvis had two albums in his hands. The soft, dark brown leather covers had a sheen from years of handling and looked

quite old.
