Sylvia laughed, then rolled down her window to speak to the blond man who had followed them. "Get in. Grace isn't in town; we
still have a ways to go."
"Thank you!" He flashed her a bright, toothy smile and opened the back door.
Gabriel rested his hands on the steering wheel, his expression turning sour as he caught the man's reflection in the rearview
mirror.

Sylvia took it. It was a dark brown card bearing a single name, "Evan," followed by a long surname. In the top left corner was an
emblem of a wheel, likely a family crest. There was no other information. The emblem felt familiar, but she couldn't quite place it.
Gabriel glanced at it, a knowing look on his face.
"Sylvia," she said, turning back to Evan.
"I have a C Country nas well," he said with a smile. "You can callDon."
Sylvia instinctively finished the phrase. "Quixote?"
"I'm sorry?" he asked, confused.
She stifled a laugh. "Nothing. Don? That's a very... unique name."
"Gia picked it for me," he said proudly.
Sylvia nodded, trying to keep a straight face. "So, Mr. Anderson, you and Grace are friends?"
"Yes, we've known each other for many years," Evan replied cheerfully. "But this is my first tvisiting her homeland."
