Chapter 461

When being firm didn't work, Vespera tried being gentle. When gentleness didn't work, she turned to coaxing.

And when that didn't work either, she went all-in with over-the-top sweetness. One of these had to work.

Sure enough, Dominic's expression finally cracked. He looked at her fake expression and smiled. He asked, "You

only kissed my left cheek. Do you not like my right one?"

Vespera had no choice but to kiss his right cheek, too. She threw in another kiss on his forehead for good

measure. It landed hard, making it look more like a headbutt disguised as affection.

Five minutes later, the bedroom door creaked open. Dominic stepped out first, gently supporting Vespera as they

made their way out.

Snowball meowed and rubbed against their legs. Vespera looked down and said, "Snowball, go and play

somewhere else for now."

Dominic helped Vespera over to the dining area, but Snowball followed them. It sometimes walked in front of

them, sometimes behind, and weaved between their feet. It was obvious that it wanted to attract their attention.

Even a stranger could tell it was familiar with them.

"This cat..." Wanda wanted to ask a question.

But before Wanda could ask, Raymond jumped in and said, "This cat is mine. We chere yesterday, and it

followed us."

As Raymond spoke, he walked over and scooped Snowball off the floor. He muttered, "I was wondering where

you had wandered off to."

Vespera seized the opportunity to sit down. She lowered her head and coughed a few times. She didn't dare to

look directly at Wanda. Pulling the covers tighter around herself, she continued to play the role of a sick patient.

"Mrs. Gildon," greeted Dominic in a relaxed manner.

On the other hand, Wanda stayed stiff. She responded, "Mr. Reid, thank you for taking care of her last night. It

must have been tiring."

When Rebecca heard that, she thought it was definitely tiring.

"You're too kind, Mrs. Gildon," replied Dominic, taking the seat next to Vespera.

Wanda said, "Mr. Reid, your butler brought breakfast."

Raymond quickly stepped in humbly and said, "I didn't know that Mrs. Gildon had already prepared such a

sumptuous breakfast. What | made can't compare. | wouldn't dare bring it out."

Wanda kept her tone polite as she responded, "Since you've already made it, there's no need to waste it."

Raymond replied, "It won't go to waste. I'll just have it for lunch later."

Wanda pressed on, "Don't worry about it. You can serve it."

Raymond said, "It really won't go to waste."

Wanda repeated, "Serve it."

Left with no choice, Raymond answered, "Alright."

Raymond set Snowball aside and opened the breakfast box. One by one, he laid out the contents.

Chicken soup, cinnamon oatmeal

with honey and eggs, soft-boiled

eggs, yogurt with honey and berries, broth with mushrooms and kate These were all nourishing and restorative

foods. s

The dining area fell into a heavy silence. All this for a fever? Had Dominic becweak after taking care of a

subordinate? But Vespera only had a fever! s

Nonetheless, Raymond remained composed. He even neatly separated the food

into portions. One for Dominic, and one for Vespera.

Wanda's expression was ghastly. On

the other hand, Rebecca touched her

ear. She

didn't know what to say. It

As for Vespera, she felt like she had already died and revived. At this point, there

was no way out. Her only choice was to power through.

Trying to sound casual, Vespera said, "Mr. Chandler, our business trip was indeed

tiring, but you didn't need to go all-out with all this."

Raymond replied, "You haven't had a proper meal in over a week. You need something nourishing."

Then, as if remembering something, Raymond turned to Wanda and added, "This

is just how Mr. Reid usually eats."

Dominic was at a loss for words.
