Chapter 105
Daniel's POV.
| stepped into Christiana’s office, expecting the usual sight of her poised behind her desk, the picture of elegance
and control. Instead, what | saw stoppeddead in my tracks. She wasn’t seated. She wasn’t working. She was
sobbing, her body slumped over her desk, her face buried in her hands, her shoulders shaking violently as she
cried.
My heart clenched at the sight. This was a side of Christiana I'd never seen. She had always been strong on the
outside, always held it together. But | knew better. Underneath that tough exterior, she was soft, fragile even.
She needed care, needed someone to be there for her. | could see that now more than ever.
Without thinking, | crossed the room quickly, closing the distance between us. “Christiana?” | called softly,
kneeling beside her, gently placing a hand on her back. Her sobs didn’t cease. If anything, they grew louder.
Raw. Painful.
“Hey, what's going on?” | asked, my voice full of concern as | stroked her back, trying to calm her down. “Talk to
me. Please.”
She lifted her head, her eyes red and swollen, her mascara smeared. Her face was tear-streaked, her lips
trembling. It hitlike a punch to the gut, seeing her like this. Christiana never showed this side to anyone, but
right now, she was breaking. | could feel her pain.
“Daniel,” she choked out between sobs, her voice so broken it hurt to hear. “I...I don’t even know where to start.
It's all falling apart. Everything. It's going from bad to worse...”
| frowned, confused but desperate to understand. “What do you mean? What's happening?“”
She wiped at her tears but they just kept coming. Her voice was shaking as she tried to speak. “My kids... they
won't talk toanymore. They... they hate me.”
| stiffened, shocked. “What? No, Christiana, they don’t hate
you.”
“They do!” she cried, her voice breaking again. “I tried to stop them from seeing their father, just for a little
while, for their own good. And now they think I'm the bad mother. They think I'm trying to keep them away from
him.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt| could see how much this was tearing her apart. She was a mother who only wanted to protect her children, but
they couldn't see it. They didn’t understand. And it was killing her..
“They won't even talk toanymore. They avoid me, they don’t look cracking with every word. “And I...1 just
don’t know what to do anymore.”

Her sobs grew louder, and | could see the hurt in her eyes. She wasn't just crying because of her kids. There was
something else. Something deeper.
“What else?” | asked gently. “There’s more, isn’t there?”
Christiana nodded, and that’s when she broke completely. Her voice trembled even more, her words spilling out
in a rush of pain. “Bianca. That woman...she’s free, Daniel. All the charges, everything...they dropped it all. And
it’s because of Madam Margret Alistair. She... she helped her.”
The moment the n“Bianca” left her lips, | felt my blood boil Bianca Monroe Lewis. The woman who had
nearly destroyed Christiana’s life, who had cafter her and her kids, who had done everything in her power
to ruin them. And now she was free?
| cursed under my breath, barely able to contain the anger rising in my chest. “How the hell did that happen?” |
muttered, clenching my fists so hard | thought my knuckles might break.
“Her lawyer.. and Margret,” Christiana sobbed. “Madam Margret Alistair had a hand in it. Alex’s mother. She
helped Bianca. get released, without bail. She used her influence, and now she’s free”

Chapter 105
| could barely believe what | was hearing. The woman responsible for so much pain, for trying to destroy
Christiana and the kids, was out on the streets, untouched. And Margret? Of course, it was her. She had always
despised Christiana, but this....this was unthinkable.
“Christiana...” | whispered, trying to keep the rage from showing too much. But it was hard. | wanted to tear the
walls down. | wanted to scream, to hit something. But | had to stay calm...for her.
She broke into another wave of sobs, leaning into me, her body shaking as she cried harder. | pulled her close,
wrapping my arms around her tightly. “It's okay,” | whispered into her hair, though it was anything but okay. “I'm
here. I've got you.”
She buried her face in my chest, her tears soaking through my shirt, but | didn’t care. | just held her tighter,
wanting to take all of her pain away. She clung tolike | was the only thing keeping her from falling apart, her
fingers digging into my arms as she sobbed harder.
“I don’t know what to do anymore,” she cried, her voice muffled against my chest. “I feel like I'm losing
everything. My kids... my life...”
