Chapter One Hundred and Twenty Eight
| was alone in Axel’s room; there had been an emergency and Axel had to go. He did tellhe would be back
soon, but it had been five hours already.

“Thane, we need to talk!” | called out; | knew someone was in the room, and just then | spotted Bailey seated on

I swallowed.
“Elder Bailey, what are you doing here?” | asked, and my voice sounded shaky even to my own ears. She took a
drag from the cigarettes she held.
“What does it look like?” She asks with a shrug; there was no smirk on her face, but | could see the victory in her
eyes.
I couldn't believe it.
| suddenly felt suffocated; | couldn't breathe.

That was the question | asked myself over and over again.

If Thane loved me, he wouldn't give up this quickly. | hadn't given up; | had tried the DNA test just to be sure,
and when | discovered there was still a chance, | had grown restless and desperate to share my discovery with
him.

my hands.
