Chapter 1353
Quite the opposite, Mrs. Fay believed that Eugene's tears were proof of how deeply he loved Lydia. Because of
his love, he could truly empathize with her pain and feel her suffering. Lydia wanted to say she didn't need
Eugene's help, but seeing the exhausted faces of her parents, what choice did she have? Could she really just
kick him out?
Doing so would only hurt her parents, who had already been through so much. So, instead, she watched as
Eugene sat down with her parents on the couch.
"Mr. and Mrs. Fay, I've already cup with a plan for handling the online scandal on my way over. We'll fight
fire with fire. They want to attack Lydia? Well, Quincy is no saint either! He's been messing around with another
woman the whole time." Eugene slammed his hand down on the table to emphasize his point. "Lydia and |
haven't even been in touch, but Quincy's cheating led to Lydia losing her child. I'll make sure he ends up with
nothing."

Lydia didn't want things to escalate like this. In her mind, a simple public clarification would suffice. "I haven't
done anything wrong, and | didn't cheat during our marriage. Our company's legal team is the best. We can sue
the media outlets spreading these rumors. There's no need to make this more complicated."
How long could all this back-and-forth attack go on? Besides, despite everything, a part of her still had feelings
for Quincy. They had loved each other once, and though they were now apart, she didn't want it to turn into a
full-blown war.
But Eugene wasn't having it. His goal was to create as much distance between Lydia and Quincy as possible,
ideally turning them into enemies. However, he knew better than to openly oppose her.
He put on a deliberately troubled expression and turned to Mrs. Fay. "Lydia, there are sthings | shouldn't
say, but your parents are heartbroken over this. What parent wouldn't want to protect their child when they're
being mistreated? And let's not forget, this is affecting the Fay Corporation too. Their entire life's work is at
stake."
Lydia was left speechless. She felt like no matter what she did, it would be the wrong choice.
She didn't want to be at the center of a public feud, nor did she want to constantly drag her lost child into this
mess as a weapon against the Perez family. But it wasn't a decision she could make on her own anymore.
And if Quincy truly still cared about her, about the child they lost, would he step up and clear the air? Would he
try to put an end to all of this?
With one last bit of hope, Lydia decided to reach out to him. But after hitting send, the message failed to deliver,
bouncing back with an error. She had been blocked.
Quincy, who had begged her not to proceed with the divorce, had turned around and cut her off without a
second thought.
Lydia quietly cleared the chat from her phone. Reaching out again would only bring more humiliation.

On Quincy's end, he was anxiously waiting outside the operating room. After leaving the courthouse, he had
planned to return to work, but halfway there, he received an urgent call from the hospital.
His mother had suffered a sudden brain hemorrhage and was in critical condition, undergoing emergency
surgery. The chances of her
surviving were slim.
With his mother's life hanging in the balance, what grudges could Quincy possibly hold onto now?
He rushed to the hospital as fast as he could and had been pacing the hallway ever since. In his distraught state,
Mabel secretly took his phone and blocked Lydia.
Suddenly, the operating room doors swung open. Quincy rushed forward immediately. "Doctor, how is my mom?
Is the surgery over?"
