Chapter 1342
Her marriage was over, but she still wanted others to enjoy their happiness together.
"Have you eaten tonight?" Nina asked, still a bit concerned about her. She had seen how upset Lydia was earlier.
Now that Lydia was here as a guest, Nina wanted to make sure she was taken care of. Lydia nodded. "Don't
worry. | ate at home. I'm an adult and | can take care of myself."
"Alright then. But if you get hungry later, just let Mrs. Watson know. She can whip up a snack for you," Nina said,
offering a gentle reminder.
She then showed Lydia to the guest room, a suite with a private walk-in closet and bathroom.

"Thank you," Lydia said sincerely.
After Nina left, Lydia stayed in the room alone. She opened the window, letting the cold wind brush against her
face, until her phone rang. It was her dad.
She answered, and before she could speak, her eyes filled with tears.
"How's it going over there? I've already arranged for sbodyguards, and they'll be there tomorrow along with
a nutritionist. Just because you're staying at someone else's hdoesn't mean you shouldn't take care of
yourself. | want my healthy daughter back," Mr. Fay said, his concern coming through in every word.
Hearing his caring tone, Lydia's
voice caught "Dad, you don't need to go through so much trouble. I'm only staying a couple of days. After I'm
done with the paperwork at the courthouse on Monday, | won't be here anymore."
"What? If you're unhappy there, I'll cget you right now," Mr. Fay replied, caught off guard.
Lydia had initially planned to stay longer. He thought a change of scenery would help her, which was why he
agreed. But she had barely arrived and was already having second thoughts. As a father, he grabbed his jacket
and car keys, ready to leave at any moment.
"No, it's not that," Lydia reassured him. "I'm having a nice there. Nina and Nash are great, and the kids are
adorable. | just don't want to stay and be an intruder. They're so happy together as a family, andhanging
around here doesn't feel right."

The moment she stepped into their living room, she felt out of place, like her presence clashed with their
happiness. She had underestimated how hard it would be.
"Then chome. Your mom and | are fine with our own 'couple time," but we'd really prefer if you were here.
The three of us-that's what makes a real family," Mr. Fay sighed.
Ultimately, hwas where she truly belonged. There, she was at the heart of everything. But whether she was
at her friend's place or with the Perez family, she always felt like she didn't quite fit in.
Lydia wasn't sure she wanted to go back hjust yet, though. "Dad, | have that small apartment downtown.
Maybe I'll move there on my own and get a pet."
"Lydia, | know you're at an age where it's normal to live alone, but with your health right now, we're really
worried. Why don't you at least stay with us for six months?" Mr. Fay wasn't ready to agree to her plan. What if
she couldn't take care of herself? It didn't matter that Lydia had been married. She would always be his little girl.
