Chapter 829
Marguerite looked at him with an expression that could only be described as "disappointed in a player." "What is
your deal, Robert? Miley's pregnant, and you're still messing around with Stella?"
"I swear, I'm not! She just showed up on her own."
"If you didn't give her any reason to hope, why would she keep hanging around knowing you're married? Can you
just be a bit more decisive?"
Robert let out a long sigh. "It's complicated. I'll explain later. For now, just keep an eye on her, and make sure
she doesn't call me."
He gave Marguerite's shoulder a reassuring pat, like he was passing on sgreat responsibility, then walked
out the door.
Marguerite stood there, alone in the room, feeling a mix of exasperation and amusement.
She had thought that Miley and Robert's relationship was smooth sailing, but then Stella cout of nowhere.
However, it seemed Miley wasn't bothered, and Robert didn't have as many loose ends as it appeared.
Marguerite hoped it was just Stella's unrequited fantasy. With that thought, she decided to call Stella.
Stella seemed surprised to hear from her, and when Marguerite got straight to the point, Stella's response was
unexpectedly eager.
"Sis-in-law, how did you know | was in Cresthaven? Did Robert mention me? What did he say?"
Marguerite rubbed her temples, "Don't get carried away. I'm trying to talk business here."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtStella was undeterred, "I can help your friend with therapy, but | have a condition!"
Marguerite had anticipated this; Stella wouldn't be Stella without skind of negotiation.
"Nit."
"You have to keepupdated on Miley."
"That's not happening. | can talk about my brother, but you need to stay away from Miley."
"I don't care about Robert's stuff, | want Miley updates!" Stella's voice was playfully stubborn, like an insistent
child.
"Do you really think | would tell you anything about Miley?"
"Then I'm not helping. No way!"
Marguerite remained calm, "Fine. But then you won't hear anything about my
brother either. | heard he's been avoiding your calls lately."
She could almost hear Stella grinding her teeth through the phone.
Marguerite smiled knowingly and soon heard Stella's reluctant agreement:
"Alright, alright, | promise! Sis-in-law, you always know how to hitwhere it hurts!"
Stella sounded wounded, but Marguerite didn't offer any comfort.
After hanging up, she immediately sent Silas's contact info to Stella, suggesting she reach out to him.
Meanwhile, in the children's room, Hayes was setting up a new computer that Robert had given him. As soon as
he logged into the chat app, a message popped up from his mysterious online friend.
"We can't delay the wafer issue any longer, please help me."
Please?
For the first tever, the other person was actually pleading with him.
This urgency was unusual. Had something happened?
The little guy hesitated but eventually replied:
"I'll help, but you need to tellwho you are, or cmeetat Cresthaven Sunshine Kindergarten."
"I promise, if you helpfind a solution, I'll reveal my identity and cto the kindergarten. It's not that | don't
want to tell you, | just can't right now!"
Can't say?
What could be so secretive?
Hayes was genuinely puzzled, but he felt a pang of sympathy and decided to ask,
"What exactly do you needto find out?"
"The way to crack the wafer."
Hayes replied, "Can't you just destroy it manually?"
"If it were that simple, would | be asking you?"
Fair point.
If it were easy, they wouldn't have been going back and forth for months.
Hayes followed up, "You'll need to givethe exact structure of the wafer."
"| sent you a sketch last time, remember?"
"Too rough!"
"| drew everything | could remember!"
Hayes folded his arms, staring at the last message in silence.
Without knowing the exact structure of the wafer, how could he figure out how to crack it?
No sample, not even a proper diagram.
After a moment, the mysterious friend sent over a photo.
Hayes squinted at the screen, and his eyes widened in surprise.
