Chapter 130
Damien looked at her back as she ran away, and he was siniling delightedly. Although he didn’t know why she came for, it was
better than avoiding him all the time.
Dempsey had an unusual look on her face when she came in. “What’s the matter?”
“The chairman of the Newton family died.”
Damien frowned.
Since the Newton family went bankrupt, he didn’t hear much from them. He only knew that the old man was ill.
Who knew that he would just die unexpectedly.
The old man had his share of achievements and he was well-known in the biz when he was young, but his later years were
miserable as a result of his disappointing daughter who made Damien went berserk. “Help send flowers to his funeral on behalf
of me personally,” He ordered. Dempsey nodded, “Yes, Sir.” “And,” he thought for a while and said, “try to slip the news into the
prison to notify Selina.” “Since Selina lost her mind, she had gone mad and she can’t recognize anyone. I think she wouldn’t
understand the situation even after telling her.”
“It doesn’t matter if she’s mad or not, just tell her the news.”
Although Ava came back alive, it didn’t mean that Selina’s crimes could be forgiven.
He wanted her to be imprisoned for the rest of her life, and he wanted her family members to suffer because of her.
Damien turned his head to look at the position where Ava stood. There were only books on the shelf, and below them was a safe
deposit box. His eyes darkened and a cold light flashed through.
At this moment, Enrico was watching some drama on his computer with his legs crossed. He immediately straightened his back
as soon as someone knocked on his door, and he pretended to be focused on work. “Oh, it’s you. You scared me,” Enrico sighed
with relief as soon as he saw Ava. “I just went to Damien’s office,” She said directly. “Oh?”
She could tell that Enrico was very concerned about that document as he stood up right away. Ava told him, “I have tried different
passwords to open the safe many times, but I couldn’t find the right password. I’m afraid that if I keep trying, Damien will suspect
something.”
Enrico didn’t feel disappointed as he had expected it.
It seemed that it wasn’t easy to open the safe. “I’ve asked around, other than Damien, his secretary, and a few executives know
the password. Maybe you can get help from there,” Ava continued. Enrico shook his head and said, “If I had a way to pry from
those people, why would I try so hard to get you into the company?” “But how can I get the password from Damien? You know
him better than me!” “Why don’t you use your feminine charms again?” “You must be joking!” Ava was disgusted and she turned
her face away. As Enrico saw that she was unhappy, he quickly smiled and said to her, “Don’t be angry, it’s just a joke. You’ll
have to think of a way to open up the safe, I’m dead meat if you can’t get the documents for me!”
She walked out of Enrico’s office and returned to her table. Luella was looking at her strangely as she was sitting down. “Miss
Nagel, where have you been?” “.... I didn’t go anywhere though.” Luella leaned closer to her and lowered her voice, “Don’t lie to
me! I saw you coming out from the Vice President’s office with my own eyes! You’ve stayed in there for so long, what did you do
in there?”
“The Vice President is the superior of the Administrative Department, of course, I’d have things to report to him.”
“Nonsense! We’ve just joined the Administrative Department, what kind of work do we have to report to the superior? Besides,
this is not the first time I have seen you going in there!” Luella was being pushy and that made Ava flustered. She thought that
“Miss Nagel, tell me honestly. Do you know the Vice President prior to this?” Luella was smart and she couldn’t hide it from her,
so Ava had no choice but to answer her, “Yeah, I do.”
“I knew it! I’ve heard people gossiping about it two days ago, and they said that the Vice President has slipped his girlfriend into
the company and everyone is trying to guess who it is. So, it’s you?” Luella’s eyes widened in surprise. She quickly covered
Luella’s mouth, fearing that other colleagues would hear her. “What kind of nonsense are you talking about? Why would I be his
girlfriend? Enrico and I are just friends!”
“Just friends?” “Back then, Erico introduced me to Radbury Group for an interview. But we are just friends, please
don’t start thinking otherwise!” “Really?” “Of course! Enrico... He’s the second chairman of the Radbury family. How could he
have anything to do with me?” Ava tried her best to clarify their relationship. How did the rumors become so twisted?
Fortunately, Luella didn’t think much about it after Ava explained it to her, and she believed her at once. “That’s true, Miss Nagel.
You wouldn’t be working as a clerk if you have some strong background.”
Ava smiled awkwardly. How could she even explain the complicated relationship between her and the Radbury brothers? It was
better for people to suspect the relationship between her and Enrico than her and Damien. She hoped that the secret could be
kept forever.
After getting off work, Ava quickly went to pick Jean up from the kindergarten. She was afraid that Enrico and Damien would
want to send her home just like what happened a few days ago, hence she left a few minutes earlier. However, she found out
that Jean was gone when she rushed to the kindergarten. The teacher on duty told her, “The child’s father came to pick him up.”.
When she signed the admission form that day, she didn’t let Damien sign on the parents’ contact list. According to regulations,
anyone who was not the guardian was not qualified to take the child. Ava immediately burst into anger, “How could you be so
irresponsible? How can you let someone else take my child? What if something bad happened to him?” “But... But Jean called
him daddy!” “He’s just a kid, what if he calls any stranger ‘daddy’? Are you just gonna let anyone take him away?” Ava turned
around and called Damien instantly. However, the line was busy when she called him. “Is he rejecting my call on purpose?” Did
he intentionally take the child away from her? Even if Jean was his child, and if Damien brought him to the Radbury family, would
she be able to see her child again?
