Chapter 456 Maleah's p.o.V.

Delaney and I ignore Max and Elyse as we reach the bottom of the stairs and I smile when I see Pauline waiting forwith my business SUV. She opens the door for us as she looks towards the Pack-house and once the three of us are inside the SUV she asks if I still want my team to keep an eye on the borders with Harvey.

"Yes, I don't want innocents to get hurt." I mumble as I lean my head back to close my eyes for a moment.

Delaney and Pauline talk about the pictures Elyse showed us and I chuckle from tto tas I see the picture Delaney is describing for Pauline, I wonder if Max lost his shit when he found out his Mate was busier with taking pictures than informing him.

Delaney and I agreed that we would ignore our Mates during the funeral, Dad will sit on my right side and Colter will sit on Delaney's left side and I really hope our Mates will get the message.

Everyone will assI will be sitting with my Mother and I informed her to reserve four seats for me, just enough for Delaney, Colter, Dad and myself. I see my Mother on the front porch with two males beside her, she is smiling at them as one of them is talking to her and I wonder if she is already looking for her next Mate.

The moment I get out of the SUV Fortune starts to act strangely, but then I get remember of something I learned years ago.

I had rescued a young Lycan and when I talked to his Mother I learned a few things I didn't know about Lycans, like the bond there is between family members. This feels similar to what I felt when I walked closer to Dad and Timber and I have to assthat they are related toand my Mother.

"Maleah, I am so glad to see you." Alpha Bradley calls out as he walks towardsand I step back in tto evade his open arms.

Delaney steps next toas our Mates walk up to us from the side of the Pack- house, "Alpha Bradley, my condolences on the loss of your Son." Delaney says before she asksto introduce her to my Mother and I take the chance to get away from Alpha Bradley and our approaching Mates.

I walk up the steps to the front porch and I feel the spull I felt with Dad, now I know for sure they are related to me.

"Maleah, thank you for coming." My Mother says and for once I don't hear a disapproving tone in her voice.

"This is your Grandfather, Lawson." She says as she turns to the male on my right and I stay put as he wraps his arms around me, allowing the family bond to form to its fullest.

"This is your Great Grandfather, Rhys." I don't get the change to look at him before I am wrapped in his arms and Fortune is waggling her tail as another family bond gets formed. "Tara." I hear Dad say from behindand he gets introduced to my Grandfather and Great Grandfather. "Maleah, can we talk for a moment?" I hear Levi ask and as I turn around I see my Alphas looking at Delaney. "We will talk after the funeral, for now I suggest you stay away from us." I say through the mind-link and Dominic looks atin surprise, but he is smart enough to keep his mouth shut.

My attention gets drawn back to my Mother when she calls out my nand she introducesto Alpha Kenyon of Snow Mountain Pack.

I see a knowing smile on Dad's face when Grandfather tellsthat he is an Assassin and I think Dad just got a few answer we both have had over the years. He asksabout my career as a designer and a business woman, he is genuinely interested inand my career and I let him guideand Delaney to the venue where the service will be held.

Dad and Colter following us with my Mother and Great Grandfather, chitchatting as we get to the venue.

"Stay away from Alpha Bradley." My Mother whispers in my ear as she kisseson the cheek, I nod my head to acknowledge that I heard and understood her and through the mind-link I inform every one of the warning my Mother gave me.

Delaney takes my hand the moment she sits and through the mind-link I ask her if she is okay, "My Father just walked in." She answers and I inform the others through the mind-link again.

Dominic moves his seat a little bit forward as he places his head on Delaney's shoulder, through the mind-link he tells her that he understands that she is angry but that he will protect her and that a disagreement between them will never change that.

Grandfather seems to understand that something has Delaney rattled and he moves closer to us as he is still talking to my Mother, "What the fuck are you doing here?" I hear a male growl from behind me, but Alpha Kenyon is quick to shut him up.

I can't see where Delaney's Father is because Alpha Kenyon and Grandfather are blocking my view but I can tell it means a great deal to Delaney that others are here to keep her safe. The service starts with a speech from Alpha Bradley about Diablo, with the way he is talking about Diablo one would almost asshe was a saint.

His eyes drift towardsas he says that Diablo had found a female he wanted to settle down with, that he was proud of his Son for finding an interesting female and that he wished Diablo had lived long enough to give him Grandpups.

"I know that I hope she will not feel as if she can no longer chere, she will always be welcher and I know her Mother feels the same." He says and I see my Mother pale the moment he mentions her.

"Miss D'Angelo, I know you want to keep your private life out of the news and I am sorry for revealing your relationship with my Son like this." He says as he looks around the room and I see a client getting up.

"I am sorry to interrupt you, Alpha Bradley. I think Diablo might not have been honest with you about his chosen Mate, because Miss D'Angelo has three Mates and I have it on good authority that their mark is that of a true Mate-bond." She says.

I hear a lot of giggles and chuckles around me, but also a few growls from the males surroundingand out of instinct I reach for my Mates.

My Mother has a small smile on her face while Alpha Bradley is turning red with anger, my Grandfather and Great Grandfather step closer to my Mother and when Alpha Bradley tries to grab her she is just out of his reach.

Dad gets on his feet when Alpha Bradley growls in the direction of my family and I decide to put a stop to this. "Alpha Bradley, I wasn't Diablo's chosen Mate. We are here out of respect to you and your Pack, to say goodbye to your Son and to hopefully give you sclosel. no never knew Diablo and I don't know what kind of male he was, but I doubt he had envisioned this on his funeral. Why don't we all sit down and continue this service for Diablo." I say as I stay beside Dad and Grandfather.

It takes a few minute before the service gets resumed and it turns out to be a rather short service, besides Alpha Bradley, no one else wanted to say something about Diablo. Something my Mother once said to a friend pops to mind, "Keep your mouth shut if you have nothing nice to say." Looks like the Pack-members somehow know this phrase and decided not to waste anyone's twith shallow words.

Once the service is over they open the doors to a paand as we walk out of the Pack-house I see Alpha Bradley approaching me.

"Maleah, can have a moment of your time?" He asks while my family surroundsand I tell him he can askanything he wants in front of my family, "We need sprivacy for this, I don't want your Mother to overhear us." He says as he keeps looking at Dad and for a moment I contemplate to go with him. If he tries something I have a reason to kill him and I will have completed another assignment, but I don't want to take any risks.

"Sorry, Alpha Bradley. I am not going anywhere with you." I respond before I turn on my heel to walk away, but he grabs my upper arm as I take a step away from him and on instinct I turn around to punch his lights out.

Unfortunately someone else got the pleasure of knocking him out, Dominic took a swing at him just before I turned around.

"Sorry, I know you are very capable of doing it yourself. I just think it is best if most don't know your fulpotential." He whispers as he leans towardsand I really hope that the time-out we are forcing on them will open their eyes.
