This wasn’t the upper crust’s first tmaking a fool out of Ariana. To them, she was a lapdog who deserved to
be fooled.
Isaac saw that Selena looked like she was about to cry. He turned to glance at Brian and saw the latter leaning
against the couch, drinking his whiskey like nothing had happened. He didn’t seem to want to interfere in the
matter.
“Brian!” Isaac approached him and lowered his voice. “This is going too far, and we should stop before the
damage is done. What are you going to do when Ariana arrives? Are you going to sit back and watch as she
becomes the laughingstock of Gleaston?”
“Why should | stop her when she’s willing to suffer through the humiliation?” Brian asked coldly.

Isaac wasn’t happy to hear that. “Evelyn is supposed to be the star of this party. Do you think it's going to bode
well for her if you allow them to continue with this debacle?”
Evelyn placed a hand on Brian's arm and said, “He's right, Brian... How about you call Ms. Torrey and tell her not
to come?”
“She made you embarrass yourself in front of Grandma. | already said that I'm going to make her get on her
knees before you and apologize,” Brian said, looking indifferent.
Evelyn subconsciously loosened her grip on his arm when she heard that.
Isaac couldn't understand the situation. “You're taking this too far, Brian. You've never acted like this in the past.
What is wrong with you today?”
Brian had never liked Ariana, but he'd never humiliated her in public like this before. The worst thing he'd done
was throw the ring into the pool on the night of their engagement because he’d been in a bad mood.
Who would've expected Ariana to jump into the pool to retrieve the ring?
Since then, Isaac felt like Ariana’s feelings for Brian were genuine. She wasn’t the smaterialistic woman
who'd schemed and manipulated to get close to him. Yet he wanted to humiliate her when so many people were
around.
Brian didn’t answer Isaac. Instead, he downed his whiskey.
Half an hour soon passed. Everyone had already had a few drinks. Brian checked the tand frowned slightly.
Someone asked, “Is Ariana coming or not? Don’t tellyou made a wrong judgment, Tolm.”
“That's impossible! Ariana will definitely show up. She's Mr. Lodge’s lapdog-how can she not cwhen she
knows he’s going to kiss Ms. Granger?”
The private room’s door swung open as soon as the words were out of Tom’s mouth. Everyone turned to see
Ariana standing there, dressed in black from head to toe.
She'd always imitated Evelyn's outfits in the past. Though she hadn’t been completely ladylike, she'd at least
looked like a lady who'd been raised in a proper family.

unruliness to the outfit.

“You really came, Ariana!” Tom approached her and eyed her lewdly. “It's too bad you're late. Mr. Lodge is still
going to kiss Ms. Granger. Since you're already here, why don’t you enjoy the celebration before leaving?”
Ariana glanced at him, her bright eyes tinged with a hint of amusement. “Are you the one who snatched Selena’s
phone?”
“Yes, | am. What are you going to do about it?” He'd always thought she was beneath him, so he wasn’t afraid of
her doing anything to him.
