Selena looked pissed. She wouldn't have cto this dumb birthday celebration if not for her parents forcing
her. She didn’t want to be around a group of disgusting people who only said disgusting things!
“Everyone knows you and Ariana are best friends, Selena, so there's no point in you standing up for her. Why
don’t
you call her and tell her to cover? Tell her it's Ms. Granger's birthday and that Mr. Lodge is about to kiss her.
| bet she’ll immediately crunning!” someone said.
Everyone laughed at that. Selena’s expression turned steely with rage, “How dare you!”
“Not going to make the call, are you? I'll do it, then!” One of the scions lunged forward and snatched Selena’s
phone.
She paled. “Give that back to me!”

Isaac’s expression turned ugly at this turn of events. He said, “That's enough, Tom! Return the phone to Selena!”
“The call’s connected!” The drunk scions were too far gone to realize what they were doing.
Ariana’s lazy, aloof voice rang out on the other end of the line. Everyone heard her loud and clear as she asked,
What's up?”
Silence descended upon the room. Then, the scion who held the phone, Tom Slater, said, “Mr. Lodge has had a
bit too much to drink, Ms. Torrey. He's going to kiss Ms. Granger! Are you going to cstop
him?”
Ariana didn’t say anything. Brian couldn’t help fixing his gaze on Selena’s phone. When he returned to his senses
and realized what he was doing, his expression darkened.
Damn it. Why did he care what Ariana had to say?
Selena looked pissed. She shouted at the phone, “Don’t come, Ari! They're playing you!”
“Stay out of this, Selena! We're asking Ariana a question!” om turned back to the phone and asked scornfully,”
What will it be? Are you coming, Ms. Torrey? If you don’t, Mr. Lodge is going to kiss Ms. Granger!”
Everyone waited to see how things would turn out. Brian leaned back instead of stopping the drunk scions, which
wasn't like him.
Evelyn couldn't help frowning as she looked at him. Those scions were evidently drunk if they had the nerve to
use Brian to make fun of Ariana like this.
Under normal circumstances, Brian would've already taught them a lesson. However, he didn’t do anything this
time. In fact, he looked like he wanted to know what Ariana would say.
Evelyn felt a little uneasy. She said, “Tell them to stop, Brian...”
Before she could get any further, Ariana asked, “Did you snatch Selena’s phone from her?”
“Don’t make it sound so nasty, Ms. Torrey. We're just having fun! Everyone's here to celebrate Ms. Granger's
birthday. It'd be rude for you to skip out on this, don’t you think?” Tom couldn't sense the iciness in Ariana’s
tone. He was still waiting to see her make a fool of herself.
“Givethe address,” she said frostily.
Tom seemed to have already expected her to come. He said contemptuously, “We're in Nyte Club’s room 8012.
Mr. Lodge says you only have 20 minutes to get here, Ms. Torrey. Don’t keep us waiting!”

“What's there to be afraid of? | told you Ariana would come, didn’t I? She’s Mr. Lodge's lapdog-I bet she’ll come
here and kick up a fuss now that she thinks Mr. Lodge is going to kiss Ms. Granger. Let's relax and wait to watch
her performance!” Tom slurred.
