Chapter 1161
It was Lysander!.
Tears streamed down Thalassa’s face as she caught sight of him. Just then, the flames reached her
feet, igniting the gasoline that soaked her clothing.
With a whoosh, the fire exploded on Thalassa, spreading rapidly over her.
“Thalassa!” Lysander roared, sprinting forward to smother the flames with his own body.
But the gasoline on her made it impossible to extinguish the fire completely, though his efforts did
reduce the blaze enough for the ropes binding her to snap.
Lysander’s large hands worked swiftly to rip the ropes from Thalassa’s body, his heart pounding as he
struggled with her clothing.
If he could just get her clothes off, the fire would lose its fuel.
The fire scorched Thalassa’s skin, the pain sharp and searing. She gasped for air, trying her best to
fight through the agony.

In mere seconds, he had stripped away Thalassa’s ropes and garments, flinging them aside. He
shrugged off his jacket and used it to beat out the flames on Thalassa’s body, even as his own trousers
smoldered.
After extinguishing the fire on Thalassa, he scooped her up and bolted from the fiery circle.
Cradled in his arms, Thalassa’s body trembled while sweat beaded on Lysander’s forehead.
He clutched her tight as if she were a fragile, priceless treasure that might shatter in his
embrace.
Ignoring the fire climbing his pant leg, he strode quickly to his car, laying Thalassa down before finally
snuffing out the flames on his clothes.
With smoke billowing from his leg, he wasted no time jumping into the driver’s seat and speeding away.
Thalassa lay in the back, her breaths ragged, consciousness fading, hair singed and brittle.
Glancing back at Thalassa’s limp form, Lysander’s heart was knotted and twisted with anguish and
urgency.
“Thalassa, hold on. We’re almost at the hospital…” His voice was hoarse, words spilling

out in a rough whisper as he drove.
He spoke to give her hope, to urge her to hold on and not give up.
Thalassa struggled to breathe, her eyelids heavy, her consciousness slipping.
She really wanted to open her eyes, but she found it hard to breathe, so reopening eyes was almost
impossible.
“Thalassa, stay awake. Think of the baby inside you. There’s a baby, and if something happens to you,

stroking her will to survive.
In the thick smoke and fire, Thalassa’s lungs were seared, her body limp, and even her breathing was
a struggle.
If she gave up her will to live, Lysander couldn’t bear to think of the consequences.
Yes, she was carrying a child so she couldn’t die. If she’s dead, the baby would be lost too.
She mustn’t die.
Thalassa could hear Lysander’s voice, and she breathed with all her might.
“Cough, cough…” She gasped, coughing violently as if her lungs were rebelling, but the suffocating
feeling eased slightly.
“Thalassa!” Hearing her cough, Lysander was filled with relief. He pressed the accelerator
to the floor.
Soon, they arrived at the nearest hospital. Lysander carried Thalassa swiftly towards the
emergency room.
“Help! Somebody help!” Lysander bu
