Chapter 1037
Elowen gazed into Thalassa’s eyes. Her question was piercing to the very core of her
mother’s soul.
Thalassa was taken aback, words failing her.
Was the lack of love between her and Lysander his fault, or hers?
Elowen’s question about why she didn’t have feelings for Lysander left Thalassa’s mind in
a whirl.
Why didn’t she harbor affection for Lysander? Or was it that she never had the right to
cherish such feelings? Did she even like him at all?
“Elowen, let’s not make this any harder on Mom. I’m ready to leave with her.” piped up
Atticus, who had been standing by silently but now stepped forward with a solemn tone.
Though young, Atticus could read the distress and loss written all over Thalassa’s face. He

father. And if it came down to choosing between his parents, Atticus would not hesitate to
chose his mother.
“I’m sticking with Mom too,” declared Dorian, raising his hand and shuffling closer to
Thalassa.
Elowen exchanged a puzzled and tender glance with Sophia. After a brief moment, Sophia
snapped back to reality and told Thalassa, “I’m going with Mom, too.”
“Yeah, let’s get on the plane! I love flying,” Elowen chimed in, nodding enthusiastically
and making her way to the aircraft.
Within just two minutes, the children had unanimously decided, leaving Thalassa with a
bitter-sweet feeling in her heart. Her eyes were moist with gratitude for their unwavering
loyalty to her.
Suddenly, Thalassa noticed that Elowen was struggling to climb into the plane, her chubby
hands grappling with the edge but her legs too short to hoist herself up. The sight was so
endearingly comical that Thalassa couldn’t help but laugh. She quickly stepped forward
and lifted Elowen into the plane.
Evelyn also pitched in to help with the kids, and soon, they were all aboard. Thalassa
climbed up and then pulled Evelyn in after her.
“We leave at last. It hasn’t been easy.” Evelyn sighed with a mix of relief and sorrow as
they settled into their seats.
Leaving meant Thalassa wouldn’t have to endure any more hardships, and they could be
with their children every day.
Evelyn wasn’t surprised to find a plane ready to whisk them away from Starhaven.
Thalassa had whispered to her at the Royal Estates that someone would come to take
them back to a life like the one they had before.
They used to be impoverished, and life was hard. Evelyn would often lament that Thalassa

able to rely on a man.
Everything changed when the children’s father came into the picture and took them away.
The once lively and simple existence they knew was shattered, leaving nothing but
loneliness.
It was only then that Evelyn realized how ungrateful she had been. They had always had
enough – they had children around them, and their days were busy yet joyous, free of
worries.
Now, the children returned to their wealthy father, and Evelyn no longer had to care for
them daily, but she was not happy anymore. She had been blind to her fortune, only
recognizing the value of their once mundane life after losing it.
Thalassa glanced at Evelyn but remained silent.
“Please fasten your seat belts. We’re about to take off.” Callum reminded them.
Thalassa nodded and hastily secured the seat belts around the four children.
Unbeknownst to her, at that very moment, Lysander’s car was racing towards the airstrip.
