Chapter 812
Nicole drove straight from home to the place where William was held. At the moment, she had a thought niggling in
her mind that she wanted to clarify urgently.
Although it was carved in stone that William had knocked over and killed Ella, the case still needed to go through a
procedure, and he was now being held as a suspect.
When she arrived to visit him, he seemed to be somewhat depressed; he was resting his head in his palms and his
eyes were cloudy and lifeless. However, his eyes brightened a little at the sight of her, and he stared at her with
trembling hands, still clutching onto a shard of unrealistic fantasy.
"Nicole… Are you here to save me, Nicole?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNicole looked down and didn't bother commenting on that topic. Instead, she asked, "Were you at the hospital when
I was born?"
When William heard her query, he instantly tried to play the family card, answering quickly, "Of course I was! You
were born at the Town Central Hospital of Hieburgh."
The light in Nicole's eyes gradually dimmed, and she narrowed her eyes at him, staring at him fixedly. "Do you still
remember my birthday, then? Do you remember what happened at the hospital back then?" she asked, exposing
him mercilessly.
Her questions got him tongue-tied, and he started to fabricate lies trying to cover his tracks, saying, "Nicole, I can't
remember the details because it was so many years ago, but you're my daughter. Of course, I love you."
A sneer tinged the edge of her lips as she stared coldly at the man who was trying his best to placate her. How
could she not tell what he was planning? He merely wanted her to get him out of this place!
Unfortunately, he had miscalculated. How could he even dream about getting released after he had offended the
Gardners?
"Daughter? William Anderson, did Queenie even visit you once after you've been locked up for so long?" Nicole
asked with a smirk, carefully enunciating every word.
William froze for a second, and then his face started to turn scarlet. That's right. Forget Queenie. Even Lydia didn't
visit him once after he had been detained for such a long time.
When Nicole noticed how dejected he became, she brutally twisted the knife as she mocked, "What a shame! You
betrayed Mother back then, but she was still thinking about you before her death. How the tables have turned!
Lydia doesn't even want to see you despite your sad state. William Anderson, don't you think you're a complete

failure as a man?"
As he listened to her lecture, his face turned crimson, and a vicious light appeared in his dark, weary eyes. He
slowly raised his head to glare at her as he growled menacingly, "Are you here today to make a joke out of me?"
Nicole merely quirked her lips into a smile and drawled, "I have only one question for you. Did you raise your hand
on Mother back then when she was pregnant and giving birth?"
William's face instantly turned sullen, and he slammed his hand on the table, bellowing, "Nicole, no matter what, I'm
still your father. How can you speak to me like that?!"
Alas, her eyes were akin to emotionless pits. So, now he's pressuring me as my father? She thought in amusement.
"William Anderson, you'd better tell the truth if you don't want your life in jail to be too miserable," she threatened
mercilessly.
Only then did it hit him that many things were beyond his control now that he was locked away. Thus, when she saw
that that thought had sunken into him, she continued with a smile, "I'm here to ask you some things today. Back
then, you're the one who betrayed Mother, so don't act so pitiful in front of me because all I have for you in my
heart is hatred. There is not a single shred of affection for you as a father."
