Chapter 515 A Deadline

Lenora was left breathless, and her lips were a lush red, reminiscent of cherries after a rain shower. "Aren't you

going to stand back up?"

"Nora, | won't pressure you. | can give you tto adjust, but everything must have a deadline," Zachary said,

lifting his head. His dark eyes were burning as they gazed at her, a look of determination that couldn't be

ignored. His large hand slowly caressed her waist. The warmth from his touch was almost scorching. The

sensation around Lenora's waist seemed to amplify several times over, drawing all of her attention involuntarily.

It left her restless, unable to sit or stand comfortably.

She didn't dare to meet his gaze. Turning her eyes away, she said, "Y-You should letgo first."

"lI won't let go."

Zachary righteously brought himself even closer. Their bodies were pressed together. His desire to meld her into

his own being was palpable. With a roguish tone, he said, "Answerfirst, then I'll let you go... Givea

deadline."

Lenora was angry. She looked up at him and said, "Fine. Ten years. Are you happy now? Can you letgo now?"

At that time, there was indeed nothing more Isla could do. However, no one could guarantee she would never

return to Jacaster.

Harrietta was the child of her and Zachary, an undeniable fact that could not be changed.

Lenora was not as optimistic as Zachary had thought.

When she was a child, spending twith her grandparents in the countryside, she had heard a piece of local

gossip. The daughter of their neighbor, against all advice, had insisted on being with a man who had been

previously married. This man had a son from his former wife, a boy of about three or four years old, who stayed

with him. The neighbor's daughter thought that since the boy was so young and wouldn't remember much if she

took good care of him, they would surely develop a bond like a real mother and son in the future. The man's ex-

wife would occasionally visit their child, taking the child out for fun. Upon her persuasion, the child would

sometimes insist on having his father join them.

As twent on, by the tthe neighbor's daughter regained her senses, it seemed as if the family of three

were still intact, and the child's parents seemed as though they had never been divorced.

The man wasn't Zachary, and the child wasn't Harrietta. Lenora never worried about anything happening

between Zachary and Isla. However, the thought of Isla appearing in her life every now and then under the

pretense of visiting the child made all the enchantment in Lenora's heart vanish completely, leaving only

unbearable annoyance.

Thus, it was best for her to maintain sdistance from Zachary, just like how things were at that moment.

Seeing him occasionally helped to fill the emotional void, yet it didn't interfere with her regular life. "Nora, ten

years is a long time. Won't you reconsider?"

Her gaze held no intimidation, yet Zachary continued to cling to her, negotiating with her in a calm and gentle

manner.

Zachary could never agree to live separately for the next ten years. Ten years? How about ten days?

"No! I've already given you a deadline. Didn't you say you would letgo?

"You actually believed what | said?"

Lenora was absolutely livid.

"Zachary Fuller!" Lenora called out, each word uttered with gritted teeth and wide, glaring eyes. Even her hair

seemed to quiver at her intensity.

"Don't be upset. Don't be upset." Zachary immediately tried to calm her down. "Nora, don't you think ten years

is too long?"

"I don't think so."

"Perhaps you should still stay over tonight."

Suddenly, Zachary scooped her up in his arms and started walking toward the mansion.

Startled, Lenora let out a gasp and quickly wrapped her arms around him. "Zachary!"

Her delicate arm was wrapped around his neck, and he caught a whiff of a faint, intoxicating fragrance.

Unconsciously, images that stirred his imagination began to resurface in Zachary's mind. Whenever she was

pleasured in bed, she would always close her eyes and part her lips slightly. With her delicate, fair-skinned arms

wrapped around his neck, she would gradually tighten her hold. "Zachary!"

Coming back to his senses, Zachary let his eyes fall, hiding the burning warmth deep within them. His jaw was

tightly set, and his arms held her even more firmly.

Watching him persistently advance, Lenora had no choice but to compromise. "Five years. Can we agree on five

years?"

She had just shortened the tby half.

Zachary paused in his tracks, casting her a deep, thoughtful glance. "Five years?"

Lenora caught the shadow in his eyes, swallowed nervously, and bit her lip before saying, "F-Four years?"

"Four years?"

"Three years? It can't be any less!" Lenora, clutching his collar, argued desperately with a mix of sorrow and

indignation.

"One month."

Lenora's eyes widened when she heard that. Struggling to suppress the urge to swear, she gritted her teeth and

protested, "That's impossible."

Without uttering another word, Zachary carried her toward the living room door.

The door was wide open, with the warm, yellow light illuminating the courtyard brightly.

As they drew closer, they could still hear the voices of Harrietta and Miranda conversing inside.

If Zachary were to carry her inside and let Miranda and Harrietta see them, Lenora would die of embarrassment.

Frantically, she grabbed Zachary's shoulders and lowered her voice. "Zachary! You need to stop right now!"

Zachary glanced at her, halting at the doorway. He pinned her against the wall by the door. Leaning in close to

her ear, he asked in a low voice, "How long do you suggest?" Looking into Lenora's clear eyes, Zachary added,

"This time, think it through before you speak."

“Two-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Zachary's handsface was already turned toward her.

The sthing happened again.

“Mm!

Lenora struggled, biting down on Zachary's lips. The taste, akin to rust, began to spread throughout her mouth.

In response to the pain, Zachary only becmore passionate.

"Huh? The car is still out front. Have Uncle Zachary and Aunt Lenora not left yet?"

Suddenly, a youthful voice echoed from the living room, accompanied by the sound of footsteps.

Alarm bells rang loud in Lenora's heart. Her body stiffened, and she dared not move.

Harrietta must have seen the car still parked at the entrance through the window and decided to cout for a

look.

The sound of footsteps becincreasingly clear as if they were just a few steps away from the door.

Zachary, however, seemed as if he hadn't heard anything. He could feel the tension in the delicate body held

within his arms. His grip around her tightened even more as he was lost in the act of kissing her lips. His large

hand ventured under her clothes, and he was pushing his luck.

Lenora's cheeks turned a fiery red. Her mind was in a daze as she let Zachary have his way.

She couldn't hear anything else, only the thunderous pounding of her own heart, as if it was about to leap out of

her chest.

"Hattie, chere."

Miranda's voice echoed through the living room.

The sound of footsteps halted at the door. "Ms. Miranda, what's wrong?"

Miranda gave a smile. "You should head off to freshen up and sleep now. You have school tomorrow."

"Oh. All right, then."

Harrietta turned her head and walked back.

Miranda glanced out the window before drawing her gaze back. Mr. and Mrs. Fuller are likely sharing an intimate

moment in the car. It's not appropriate for Hattie to interrupt them. The tight string in Lenora's heart finally

loosened once she heard the footsteps gradually fade away.

Before she could even catch her breath, she found herself frozen again. Her cheeks were red, her ears burning

Kot, and her knees weak.n a hurried attempt, she grabbed Zachary's mischievous hand and stammered, "W-

What are you d-doing?"

Her feeble strength was nowhere near enough to stop Zachary.

Zachary kissed her cheek, his large hand moving slightly. His voice was hoarse as he whispered, "Nora, you

seem very excited."

"Don't spout nonsense!"

Lenora reacted as if she were a cat whose tail had been stepped on, vehemently retorting in a bristled manner.

Her entire face was flushed, her eyes shimmering as if hiding something. She strained to pull his hand away. "Let

go ofnow!"

Zachary smoothly withdrew his hand, presenting it to her. "Hmm?"

A buzzing sound echoed in Lenora's mind, her small face flushed crimson, a mix of embarrassment and urgency.

A layer of mist covered her eyes, and although her mouth opened, she found himself unable to utter a word.

Perhaps because of her pregnancy, she had becincreasingly sensitive lately.

Zachary gazed at her, noticing the reddening corners of her eyes, her misty gaze, and her rosy lips. Unable to

resist, he leaned in and kissed her gently.

Seeing his beloved woman almost on the verge of tears, Zachary decided not to tease her any longer. "Let's go.

I'll take you home," he said.
