If he didn't do it, why should I worry? Her anger started to rise. "I should show him I can do better and make him jealous. Hmph. That'll teach him for treatinglike this." "Okay, but don't overdo it," Pearl advised.
She decided not to mention her visit to James. If Esther knew and ne understood James's reasons, she might run back to him without a second thought.
