Sherilyn stood frozen, feeling the pressure of his palm against her lower abdomen.
"Have I not treated you well? What more do you want fromto stay by my side willingly? Are you really that eager to break up? Do you think, carrying my child, that Edgar Ferguson would still want you?" Without waiting for Sherilyn to answer, the man's eyes flickered briefly, and he let out a faint, dismissive laugh, word by word he declared, "Listen well, you're staying right here by my side! Give birth to this child! My child must be brought into this world well and healthy! And my child can only haveas a father!" After finishing, he released Sherilyn and went upstairs.
Sherilyn froze on the spot, her mind completely blank, buzzing with shock and scrambling to form a coherent thought! It took her a moment to snap out of the initial shock.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGilbert, he actually didn't believe her? No, he actually believed her? She had even said outright that the child wasn't his... and he didn't doubt her? She admitted, she was impulsive at that moment. All she could think of was seizing the chance to leave him! A now or never opportunity! But he didn't believe it? Even she herself thought that Caroline's instigations were logical and convincing! His attitude yesterday, and his absence all night, she thought he had believed it! But it turned out, he was just angry because of her careless words? He didn't even question her... He just... believed her? Why? Where did this trust cfrom? Between her and Caroline, shouldn't he have firmly chosen Caroline? Just like he did four years ago! How ironic, right? If he had trusted her like this four years ago, would they have ended up like this today? Sherilyn went to the kitchen and heated up a glass of milk. As she was drinking it, she heard footsteps; Gilbert was coming down.
She hurriedly put down the glass and ran to him. "Gilbert, wait!" But it was too late, Gilbert had already left through the foyer, closing the front door behind him.
Sherilyn tugged at her lips in frustration. Did he not hear her? Q free her and still chose of get swnole wait? She wondered how much longer she'd be trapped here? What could she do to leave with her child and Jenna, escaping from his grasp unscathed? Turning back, she finished her milk and went upstairs.
She hadn't slept well the previous night, full of worries.
Now stuck in a stalemate with no plan, Sherilyn laid down with a wait-and-see attitude and fell asleep. Somewhere in a drowsy state, she didn't know what tit was when she heard a knock at the door. Fidelia was calling from the doorway, "Ms. Gomez, are you awake? It's tfor lunch." "Mmm..." Sherilyn was so sleepy she could barely open her eyes, "Fidelia, I'm so tired, I'll pass." She turned over and continued to sleep.
Fidelia, left without options, went back downstairs.
After a moment's thought, she called Gilbert, full of dilemmas, "Mr. Johnson, I've called Ms. Gomez, but she seems very tired and said she won't have lunch..." "I understand." Gilbert hung up and immediately dialed Sherilyn's number.
Not eating? Did she forget her own situation? Always talking about diet and body management.

Being so frail, fainting twice already since the pregnancy began, and now daring to skip meals? "Hello." The call connected, Sherilyn's voice heavy with sleep.
"Get up." Gilbert was blunt, almost commanding her, "Get up now, and cdownstairs to eat!"
"I don't want to." Sherilyn repeated herself, "I'm too tired, I didn't sleep well last night." Didn't sleep well last night?
Gilbert thought to himself, probably up all night figuring out how to m infuriate him enough to leave, right? X
