Chapter 437 Claire was thoroughly confused as Orion tugged her along at a brisk jog.

Her short little legs could barely keep up with his pace.

In no time, they reached the backyard garden.

The garden was bursting with color, fragrant blooms everywhere. Orion led Claire deep into a tangle of flowers in full bloom.

He turned to her, his expression serious. "Claire, let's play hide-and-seek, okay? You hide, and I'll cfind you. But you have to promise-not a peep until I find you, all right?" Had he really dragged her here in such a rush just to play hide-and-seek? Claire blinked, her large, shining eyes full of questions. Her long, curled lashes fluttered as she gazed up at him, and Orion felt his heart melt right then and there.

With a sister this adorable, Orion thought, if York and Zachary ever saw her, they'd be at his house every day just to play with her. That would mean less tfor him and his little sister.

As for Sean, Orion wasn't particularly worried. Sean was the coldest of their group —always expressionless, never showing much interest in anyone or anything.

Orion was certain someone like Sean would never catch Claire's fancy.

That left York and Zachary-he'd have to keep a close eye on those two.

Orion cupped Claire's rosy cheeks in his small hands. "You have to hide really well, okay?" Was this really just about a gof hide-and-seek? Claire doubted it, but she didn't protest. After all, she was the grown-up here, and Orion was only ten. She might as well humor him.

She flashed a bright smile, her eyes curving into crescents as she beamed, showing off a set of perfect white teeth.

"All right, I'll do whatever you say, big brother." Orion was powerless against that smile. He couldn't help himself-he bent down and planted a quick kiss on Claire's Storehead. "You're the sweetest, Claire." With that, he dashed off.

Claire tucked herself deeper into the heart of the flowerbeds. Petals in every shade half-concealed her small form. A gentle breeze set the branches swaying, making the leaves rustle softly all around.

She closed her eyes, listening intently to the sounds of the wind brushing through leaves and blossoms.

In her previous life, she'd lost her hearing for so long that, by the tshe died, even her ability to speak had started to fade.

Now, given a second chance, she cherished every sound she could hear. Her world was no longer locked in silence.

The gentle rustling in her ears, the mingled fragrances of so many flowers-at this moment, she felt utterly content.

Back in the house, Orion arrived just in tto see York and Zachary burst through the doors, with Sean trailing behind at a leisurely pace.

York's tousled hair bounced with every step, his eyes es sparkling with curiosity "Orion, where's your sister? Con, introduce us!" Zachary, wearing his usual air of smugness, grumbled, "Yeah, I want to see if your sister is cuter than mine." Sean, as always, remained aloof and silent, giving away nothing with his blank expression.

Orion scowled, clearly unhappy. He spread his arms, "What are you going their path.

doing here? I'm not letting you see my sister!" York grinned, sidling closer. "Don't be such a spoilsport, man." Zachary chimed in, "Yeah! If you didn't want us to meet her, why'd you send us that picture last night?" Orion fell silent. Last night, he'd just wanted to brag.

He didn't just want to show off how adorable his sister was to the three to of them he wanted the whole w world to know she was not only cute, but also amazing. He wanted everyone's praise for his sister, but he certainly didn't want to share her with anyone else.
