When Vincent saw Gareth’s dark face, he continued, “So, you have to tell me. What on earth
happened?”
“There’s nothing to say.” Gareth put down his glass. At that moment, he wasn’t in the mood to drink any
longer.
He didn’t want to tell anybody what had happened that day, and it wasn’t because he had been
humiliated by how Elisa had treated him. Rather… he didn’t want anyone to know what had happened
between them in the past.
Vincent was confounded.
He had tried hard to persuade Gareth but couldn’t get any answers. He suddenly lost his head at this
impasse. “D*mn! I should have ignored you since my life is in shambles anyway!”
Gareth glanced at him indifferently. Gareth had cautioned Vincent previously. It was pointless to advise
Vincent anymore.

When they had their last drink, Vincent gritted his teeth and said, “This woman will get more than she
bargained for sooner or later!”
“Don’t lose more than you gain.” Gareth got up after that. “It’s late. Let’s go back.”
The two had drunk a lot, but neither of them looked tipsy. Instead, they seemed remarkably sober.
Vincent didn’t say anything, and the two walked back to their suites together.
Both their suites had the same layout. The two walked into their respective suites, and the living rooms
were empty. The gorgeous lights brightened the entire living room, but the two men looked at the door
of the second bedroom at the same time. The door was shut tight, and there wasn’t any noise from
inside. Elisa and Rachel must have fallen asleep.
Gareth and Vincent didn’t say anything. They went into their bedrooms and lay down after taking a
shower.
But…
Perhaps it was the influence of alcohol. The two men were still very much awake and not sleepy at all.
Their minds were filled with images of the two women.
…
The next day, Elisa woke up early, and she took the breakfast that Thomas had sent over.
She had freshened up and unpacked breakfast when she saw Gareth walk out of his bedroom.
Gareth and Elisa were still in their pajamas as they sat across from each other at the dining table.
Elisa ate silently and didn’t plan on speaking to Gareth.
And Gareth only ate a little before he lost his appetite.
Elisa glanced at him indifferently before she continued eating. She always had a good appetite and had
never missed a meal, except when she was falling apart.
She had fallen apart countless times in the three years of their marriage.

After eating breakfast, Elisa returned to her room and washed up before she walked out in a change of
clothes.
Gareth had already vanished.
She opened the door to go downstairs when her cell phone rang.
“Ms. Benett, are you ready? We’re prepared to leave.”
“Mm. I’m coming down.”
“Alright.”
After she hung up, she walked out. When she saw Gareth’s car, she walked over and wanted to sit in
the passenger seat. She didn’t want to have too many interactions with the man.
But… when she saw a plump middle-aged man in the passenger’s seat, Elisa had a slightly surprised
expression. Ultimately, she walked to the backseat unwillingly and sat next to Gareth.
Thomas immediately introduced the person in the front seat to Elisa. “Ms. Benett, this is the person in
charge of Phoenix Bridge, Mr. Moore.”
Dennis Moore immediately looked at Elisa and smiled politely at her. “Hello, Ms. Benett.”
Elisa nodded as she smiled and said, “Hello, Mr. Moore.”
She had a gentle attitude and an elegant demeanor. Gareth’s gaze fell on her.
