repeating that he wasn’t her brother. “You need to wait here where you're safe until he comes and picks you
back up, okay?”
Nora seemed like she wanted to argue, but Alexander brought her in for a gentle hug and patted her on the
back.
“You have to be strong for me, okay? Can you do that?” he asked when he pulled away from the hug.
“Yeah,” Nora said and brushed away a tear. “I think | can.”
“Good.” Alexander smiled kindly at her, squeezed her shoulder, and then put his arm around me. “Will you
ensure that she gets hsafely?” he asked the manager.
“I promise,” he said. “I'll have my security on the lookout for Ethan, and I'll make sure he knows that he can’t do
this again.”
Alexander shook hands with the manager, said goodbye to Nora, and then ledout of the room. We were
quiet as we rode the elevator down to my floor. It was only when he was walkingto my door that | spoke up.
“You handled that situation really well,” | complimented him. “You did it in a way that wouldn't upset Nora. Not a
lot of people could do that.”
