His anxiety shocked me. | blinked up at him as guilt settled low in my stomach. Alexander seemed actually
worried for me. His woodsy scent surrounded me, lowering my inhibitions, and | began to lean forward and tilt
my head to the side before | could think better of it.
Surprise flickered in his eyes, but he followed my lead. His hand slowly traveled down, and he cupped the back
of my hot neck, warming it even further.
It should be considered illegal how much | wanted this man.
Right before our lips touched, my rational side took over, and | pulled away abruptly. | scooted away from him
until our bodies were no longer touching. Even though I now felt cold and empty without his warmth, | knew that
it was the right choice. | couldn't make smart choices with Alexander's warm hands on me.
“I'm alright,” | assured him in a shaking voice.
Alexander studiedfor a moment, and then his gaze seemed determined, like he had made a decision about
something. Weariness filled me, and my instincts were correct because a second later, he reached forand
grabbed my waist with his warm hands.
“What are you doing?” | squeaked as an electric bolt went down my spine. My head was spinning from his touch,
and my legs began to tremble as memories of his hands roaming my body last night flashed into my mind.

“It's okay.” Alexander replied in a quiet, soothing voice as he setdown on his lap. “I just want to comfort you,
nothing more. You can trust me, Olivia.”

For a long time, the only sound in the car was our soft breathing and the gentle rustle of our clothes as
Alexander gavea massage. His expert touch turnedinto putty in his capable hands. First, he got all of the
kinks out of my shoulders, then my upper back, and finally, he moved to my aching lower back.
As he massaged me, | let out quiet whimpers of pleasure. | couldn't help it, his warm touch felt so good. He used
just the right amount of force so that it didn’t hurt, but it still got all the knots out of my body.
Soon, | becso relaxed that | fell into a sort of trance. Then, | allowed myself to drift off into the most
peaceful sleep I'd ever had.
