Chapter 120
He nodded and his hands finally released their hold on my hips. “Go.”
| didn’t need to be told twice. Scrambling backward, | climbed out of the tub on my hands and knees, water
streaming from my soaked clothes and hair. My legs shook as | stood, whether from cold or adrenaline. | grabbed
a towel from the rack and wrapped it around myself.
Without another word, | fled.
| almost slipped on the hardwood as | rushed down the stairs. | was shivering when | got to the kitchen. | stood
dripping, staring at the bag of ice I'd left on the counter.
Run, Yve urged. Go to your room before he comes downstairs.
| knew she had a point. | didn’t know what version of him I'd find if | returned upstairs. But, my traitorous feet
keptrooted to the spot.
Damn it.
After what felt like an eternity of internal debate, | grabbed the bag of ice and headed back upstairs. | took a
deep breath before reaching for the bathroom door.
It didn’t turn.
| tried again, but it still didn’t turn. Alexander had locked himself inside. And | didn’t know whether to be relieved
or terrified.

| woke up the next morning thinking about Alexander with a distinct pit in my stomach. | feared the worst had
happened. That he'd hit his head and was lying unconscious on the bathroom floor.
That singular thought hadspringing out of bed and rushing out my room before | could think better of it. As |
neared his bedroom door, | reduced my speed, walking on my toes instead, trying not to make a single sound.
But as | leaned against his door and strained to hear any sound from within, | forgot the Alpha would have heard
The door suddenly burst open, and with nothing to support my body, | stumbled forwards. His chest was mere
inches from my face when | finally regained balance and forced myself back. My cheeks burned with
embarrassment, but | forced myself to look up at him.
Alexander filled the doorframe, broad shoulders blocking my view of his room. He was fully dressed in dark jeans
and a black henley. He looked better than | did in my pajamas that were still rumpled from a haphazard night's
rest.
“Olivia. What are you doing here.”
“I... 1 cto...” | wracked my brain, trying to think of something to say. “To help you pack.” Yes, perfect. “I
cto wake you up and help you pack.”
He eyedfor a second as if he didn’t believe me. “Go get breakfast. | can handle the packing myself.”
| nodded quickly, desperate to escape the awkward moment “Right. Of course. I'll go get that ready now.”
“Olivia.” Alexander was suddenly looking atseriously. “I’m warning you. Don’t go into my room after | leave.
You'll regret it.”
