“I hope you didn’t take it,” Jack answered without hesitation, and his eyes were as sincere as his tone.
But Violet was not moved. She just looked steadily at him.
Her sparkling black and watery eyes were indescribably attractive to Jack.
Jack held Violet’s arm tightly. He wanted to see her, but there was no suitable reason.
