Chapter 107

Liliana bit her lip. "But if we stick to the original script, | don't think my body can handle it."

She placed a hand on her stomach, dropping the hing, and Amara immediately understood what she meant. Her

expression cooled slightly.

"Ms. Sullivan, your pregnancy is your own matter. If you knew you weren't in good health and couldn't handle

this role, why did you take it on? This role was something you fought for. We're all adults here; you should be

responsible for your decisions."

Amara wasn't unreasonable. The scene Liliana wanted to change didn't require that much physical exertion;

Liliana should be able to manage it. Yet, despite this, Liliana insisted on altering that scene. Amara couldn't tell if

Liliana was just being overly susceptible or if there was another reason.

As the screenwriter, Amara felt she had to protect the integrity of the script. That particular scene couldn't be

changed.

"Ms. Sullivan, regardless of the situation, I've already committed to this project. But | really can't take that part,

changing it would be beneficial to us."

Liliana ignored what was important, stepping forward a bit, looking expressly earnest.

Amara frowned slightly as she replied, "It is what it is. If you really can't perform the scene, use a stand-in."

Amara didn't desire to continue the discussion. She glanced at her watch; it was almost 9 PM. She was eager to

get to her break room for reading and was about

to turn away.

Suddenly, a startled scream broke through the air. Amara whirled

around to see Liliana, who had been standing safely on the bank,

suddenly fall into the pond. She net

flailed her arms and legs, shouting for help. Each tshe opened her mouth, she swallowed more water.

Onlookers gasped in shock, rushing to the scene.

Two people at the front of the crowd jumped into the pond, struggling to pull Liliana out. Drenched, Liliana sat on

the grass, disheveled, clutching her chest and gasping for ai her face as pale as a ghost.

Amara was stunned. What had just happened? She had turned her back for a moment, and then she heard

Liliana's cry. Did Liliana jump in on purpose?

No one had seen how Liliana ended up in the water, but when they hurried over, Amara was the only one

standing by the bank. Cedric asked, "Amara, what happened? How did Liliana end up in the water?"

"Yeah, she was just talking to you by the bank. How did she suddenly fall in?"

They questioned Amara rather than the paled Liliana, who looked too faint to

answer.

Just as Amara was about to respond with "I have no idea," the crowd let out another gasp. Liliana's eyes fluttered

shut, and she fainted right there on the grass.

Cedric and others rushed to her side, lifting her up and shouting, "Call an ambulance, quick!"

Even though Amara was technically Finnian's wife, everyone knew Liliana was the one who held a special place

in Finnian's heart. If something

serious happened to the big shot's woman and he got angry, it would be disastrous for everyone involved.

The ambulance arrived swiftly, and Cedric and the others followed it to the hospital. As the "first witness at the

scene", Amara also went along.
