Elder Sarah's aura had been intense upon stepping into the room. It didn't hurt him, but he could feel its density, and he couldn't help but know she was nearing the next tier. He only didn't know how long it would take.
"I have something to ask you," Noah replied taking note of the electrical currents running even along her attire, and her hair. The room felt hot. However, thanks to her control; it wasn't anything unbearable.
"Then make it fast dammit!" she barked at him ruining the serenity of that scene.
Noah's eyes turned blank at that point and he went on to explain himself to her.
He left out the details that contained him buying beasts, and only spoke about how he would need some time to increase his power.
Shockingly she didn't object to that idea and even revealed that she would have ordered him to do so anyway. Her reason was mostly based on the fact that he would be leaving the guild for who knew how long.
He had to uphold his state as a monster worthy of time and resources. He couldn't disappoint her and the guild.
The part about burrowing money, however, had not been exactly easy. She had remained mostly curious about why he would require 50 gold coins. But she did mention that it wasn't much of a request to her.
Noah barely spent ten minutes asking and she had already accepted his offer. She chased him out of her room at that point.
With the first option basically done, he couldn't help but find himself at a loss for what to do.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLeaving the city now sounded good again, he would need training subjects that could feel pains, so the beasts were more or less necessary.
'How will I pay back though,' Noah chuckled, now back in his room. His answer was obvious which was to either sell stuff or go on missions. But after advancing he would prefer going on missions since they would allow him to stretch a bit.
Noah estimated about a month to get everything over with.
He would take rank C missions and move into rank B since he would be able to handle such jobs.
"A month's worth of fun," he giggled. Looking into his inventory for sellable items. He found many.
He had amassed an interesting amount of mana cores, and he still had the Nindium plant available with him.
He had a few mana stones that looked valuable, but he would keep them. Yet the mana cores were the most.
Noah counted almost two hundred of them. Surely they would sell for a reasonable price.
He knew a few places in the city that accepted mana cores, but they were in the inner region. Noah felt unwilling to leave his position so he opted to return to his cultivation room to cultivate his body and pass the time until elder Sarah was available.
He occasionally returned to check her out and had to wait two good days before she exited her room.
She had cultivated for two days straight, and Noah had been forced to do the same.
The benefit of that exercise had been quite noticeable, but he didn't focus on them too much since he knew leveling up would bring far more.
"You waited? I thought you would have found someone else to help you," Elder Sarah teased walking down the stairs with a body radiating vitality.
"Who would I even ask? I barely know anyone. Thanks to you of course," Noah snorted.
"Well if you had learned the forms faster that wouldn't be an issue," she replied arriving in the sitting room and taking her seat.
Noah remained silent at her accusation and waited for her to bring out a jug and two cups.
"Don't worry you'll make a lot of friends during your tour. It won't only be you winners after all," She revealed sipping wine, but Noah didn't miss her smugness.
"We won't be the only one?" Noah asked pouring a drink for himself.
"Mhm... Many nobles find it as a reason to leave the nation. Away from the tension building amongst them. Thankfully that isn't our concern. At least it mostly isn't." She explained after a moment of silence.
"During my travels, I heard that there might be a war or something," Noah commented sipping more of the tasty wine.
"If there is, we the guilds are by obligation; on the side of the royals. So the nobles will need strong connections to properly rival them. I believe some guilds are on their side. Maybe even a great guild," Elder Sarah hinted.
Noah fell into thought at that point. He didn't know much about politics but it didn't take an expert to see that their nation had some issues.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Enough about politics and the weaklings that might hitch a ride with you guys. Now, the money," Elder Sarah announced at some point, and she wave her hand to make a small bag appear on the table.
"There are exactly fifty-five gold coins inside of it." She began. "I know we agreed on fifty, but you don't have to pay me back. I have a feeling you want to further your strange strength since you've been avoiding my questions concerning that topic. And I want to have a hand in it." She continued before he could protest.
"I honestly have no clue what you want to do, but you better make my investment worthwhile," She sipped more wine, ending her explanation.
"I don't know what to say. But thank you," Noah stood and bowed. His gratitude being genuine.
"No worries. Fifty-five gold coins aren't much for me. I spend thousands simply on wine," she commented making Noah choke on his drink.
"Get stronger and advance to higher ranks. You'll make lots of money." She laughed boisterously at Noah's shocked expression.
Noah could only shake his head at some point. She truly was an eccentric individual.
A few moments of silence passed before any other words were spoken.
"I'm leaving the city for at least a month, master," Noah revealed.
"I knew something like this would happen, so I'm allowing you," Elder Sarah responded.
"This would normally be outrageous, but I give you one month to get far stronger than your current self," she announced confidently.
"I won't fail you," Noah replied with a soft smile and they went to share drinks for whole hours. Noah decided to stay back for a day before leaving to get things done.
He had one month. One month to return with outrageous power.
