Chapter 1615:
“What's wrong?”
Just as he expected, Hadley jumped in alarm and steadied him with both hands. “Is it your head again?”
“Yeah.” He gave a curt nod, brows pinched tight.
“Why are you getting so worked up?” Hadley’s voice cout soft, but her face betrayed the guilt churning
inside her. “I was just saying it...” She guided him gently to the bed and helped him ease down onto it.
“You shouldn't say things like that,” Eric clasped her hand, his grip firm. “You know | can’t handle hearing that—
not even once!”
“Okay, okay.” Hadley nodded quickly, agreeing to everything, afraid he might faint again. This was no laughing
matter.

“It’s easing.”
Eric stretched his arms and pulled her into the shelter of his chest.
Their faces drew close, and their eyes locked. “We've known each other since we were kids—over ten years
together. There's no one else who fits better than...”
“Geez.”
Hadley felt her nose sting. She tucked her face into his chest and murmured,
The evening was still young, and they stayed there, wrapped in each other's warmth.
Eric changed the subject. “What about the wedding album? Any progress?”
“Not really...” Hadley gave a small shake of her head. “I've gone through so many that they all look the same
now.” The truth was, she couldn't make up her mind.
“Have you thought about the location?” Eric asked.
“Huh?” The question caught her off guard. “Isn't it going to be in Srixby?”

“Not necessarily.” He shrugged. “There's a whole world out there. Pick any city you want—it’s your call.”
Only then did it truly hit her: she was marrying into the most prestigious family in Srixby.
Hadley shook her head. “Is there a city you really like, Eric?”
“I'm good with wherever...” He offered a few suggestions. “Bright Island? The Goldhaven Islands? Ironspire?
Maybe Borealis?” Each one was a dream wedding destination.
Hadley’s thoughts drifted to their first wedding.
Shortly after they registered their marriage, Ernest had his accident, and the wedding was quietly called off.
Reading her silence, Eric leaned in and kissed her forehead. “This time, it'll be extravagant. | want you to be the
happiest bride alive.”
As the words left his lips, his fingers moved to the back of her dress. “Does this one have a zipper?”
The fabric slipped, revealing her shoulder, and Hadley blinked in realization. “So the headache’s gone, huh?”
“Mm... Everything feels right when I'm holding you.”
