Chapter 686 Is It Strange?
After he said those words, Jenny's expression changed slightly as she looked at him and
asked, "Did she offend you somehow?" "Not really. I just don't like that kind of woman."
Jolene's success in her scheme indirectly encouraged other women who intended to make
a move behind the scenes to take a leaf out of her book. Julian would have to
watch every drink he had from then onward. Countless women would try to carry out their
plans at any cost, not caring about the consequences.
"If you want to teach her a lesson, that's your business. Don't drag me into it." Jenny didn't
want to be implicated later on if Julian did something and blamed it on her for teaching
him. She wouldn't be able to explain herself to either the Fausts or Graham.
Hearing her response, Julian felt aggrieved. "Jen, I just wanted to help you express your
anger."

"Come on. Don't pretend to be innocent in front of me, Mr. Faust. Just tell me what's your
purpose in approaching me.” She was tired of playing along with him, so she decided to
call a spade a spade.
Julian's expression changed abruptly, but he quickly recovered and said," What purpose
would I have? I just want to be friends with you."
"With your status, there's really no need for you to be friends with me." Jenny laughed
humorlessly. Brandon had just said he also wanted to be friends with her earlier. Even a
fool would find it hard to believe. Seeing how Julian refused to speak, she felt a little
helpless and asked, "You're here about Alec, right? Do you want to find out more about
him from me?"
Julian didn't deny it. Any pretense was futile and unnecessary in front of someone as
intelligent as Jenny.
"You could have sent someone to Parrington to find out everything about him and me.
Why waste your energy here today?" Jenny didn't think it was necessary.
Julian disagreed. He looked at Alec and Blake, who were not far away and sneered, "Of
course I've sent someone to investigate, but it's precisely because I looked into it that I
find him very strange. He was clearly so fond of you before, but as soon as he returned to
the Faust family, he was eager to distance himself from you. Isn't that strange?"
Jenny felt a pang in her heart, but she concealed it well and asked, "Is it strange? I think
it's normal. He liked me because he knew I was a Walter. But when he found out that he
was related to the Faust of Bardoff City and had the opportunity to return to the family, a
Walter like me was not that attractive to him anymore. As you can see, he's with the
young lady of the Watkins family now. Compared to her, I'm clearly inferior."
In terms of power alone, the Walters weren't comparable to the Watkins.

that kind of person?"
Based on the information he'd found, Alec was evidently not heartless.
Either the information he'd dug up was too superficial, or Alec was pretending-Julian
leaned more toward the latter. He believed that Alec didn't want Jenny to get involved with
his affairs to protect her; he loved Jenny but kept it to himself.
Jenny couldn't read Julian's mind. If she could, she would probably give him a high five
because she had thought the same before. But after talking to Alec, she no longer thought
so-he really didn't like her. It had nothing to do with protecting her.
"I'm curious, Mr. Faust. Many other Fausts returned this time. Out of all of them, why did
you choose to pay attention to Alec? Could it be that you really think he can take the Faust
family away from you? Are you that lacking in confidence?"
She was genuinely curious, so she casually asked Julian about it. By doing this, she might
be able to get an answer to issues she'd been wondering about.
