Chapter 643: She’s Everything Wrong With My Life
The meeting ended late into the night, but the discussions had set things in motion. Major facts were clarified,
strategies refined, and by the next day, it was already tfor the examinations of the third and fourth majors.
“You remember everything | told you? The foundation is the basics,” Darius asked as they walked briskly toward
the large exam hall.
“Yes, yes, | remember,” Nnenna replied, adjusting her satchel with a small smile.
“Good,” he said, his tone turning firm but encouraging. “The foundation of everything matters. It'll always help
you when things get complicated.”
He suddenly stopped mid step, forcing Nnenna to halt beside him. For a moment, his expression softened.
“Look,” he said quietly, “I know that compared to who used to teach you, Somto, | might not be as good as he
was. But I've taught you everything | know within the twe had. And even though it was short, you have
everything you need for this exam. | don’t know how it's going to go, but...” He smiled faintly, pride gleaming in
his eyes. “I can feel it, you'll excel.”
too,” Nnenna nodded, her confidence firm yet gentle.
“Now con,” Darius said, pulling her lightly by the arm as they resumed walking. “As much as | would love to
use the excuse of ‘teaching you’ just to spend more twith you, we don’t want to be late.”
Nnenna chuckled, shaking her head as they quickened their pace.
Once inside the hall, the atmosphere buzzed with tension and anticipation. Students filled the seats, whispering
last minute reminders to themselves, their notes clutched tightly. Nnenna’s eyes immediately caught a familiar
figure among the crowd.
“Hey, George!” she waved, her voice cutting through the low hum of the room.
Hearing her, George looked up from his laptop, relief washing over his face. “There you are,” he said, closing the
lid. “A few more minutes and you would've been late.”
“Last minute prep,” Nnenna shrugged with an easy smile.
“You don’t have to telltwice,” George said with a small nod, turning his laptop so Nnenna could see the
screen. Lines of code filled it, he was still practicing one of his majors, programming, in preparation for the exam
that would start soon.
“Where's Linda?” Nnenna asked, her gaze sweeping across the student stands.
“I don’t know,” George replied with a shrug. “After what happened yesterday, the chances of her having to
retake her first major's exam are pretty high.” He sighed softly, genuine sympathy in his tone. “It's got to be a
huge blow for someone who's never fallen below the top five in our set.”
“I know the feeling,” Nnenna murmured, her voice quiet but thoughtful. Memories flickered, days when she
hadn't had the courage to stand up for herself, when she had been bullied even as a so called princess, and had
to pretend to be less capable just to avoid outshining her siblings.
George closed his laptop and leaned back. “I just hope she gets here soon, or that first major won't be the only
exam she fails.”
Before Nnenna could reply, the Master of Ceremony stepped onto the stage, the hall's chatter dying down
almost instantly.
“Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, welcto today’s exam session of the Omniora Academic
Majors!” his voice boomed across the hall.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe introductions began, formal greetings, acknowledgments, and long lists of dignitaries that seemed to go on
forever since more people cover to confirm the rumours of someone breaking a record. The students, used
to the ritual, used the extra tto settle in, adjust their devices, and review their notes.
Still, there was no sign of Linda. As the introductions wound down, uneasy glances passed among her friends
and classmates.
Regardless of her attitude, failing a final exam was something no one wished even on an enemy. Having to
repeat an entire year with juniors while one’s setmates graduated wasn’t just embarrassing, it was soul crushing.
Still, no one could afford to leave their exams, not even to search for Linda. “I hope she’s okay,” her best friend
called, worry cutting through the chatter.
But Linda wasn’t okay. She sat on a cold bench in the year six locker room, phone clutched so tight her fingers
ached. The score on the screen uncovered with her connections stared back at her: fail. She had have to repeat
the year. Six years of grinding, and it had cdown to this single number.
Rage bloomed first, hot and ugly. If that girl, Nnenna, hadn't been everywhere, fluttering around George, |
wouldn't have been distracted. If Nnenna hadn't stolen his attention, | would have focused. Linda's thoughts
twisted into a plan before she even realized it. She would make Nnenna pay.
“She’s everything that’s wrong with my life,” Linda whispered, because the words sounded true and dangerous.
Tears burned at the corners of her eyes and fell warm onto her phone screen.
A voice answered from the shadowed doorway behind her. Quiet. Close. “I can say the sthing.”
Linda whirled around so fast the room tilted. For one sharp second she only saw a silhouette at first, not George,
not anyone she expected, but then a familiar face cinto view. The person stood right behind her with an
easy stillness that made the locker room feel suddenly too small.
“What are you doing here?” Linda snapped, breath short. “How did you get in here? Are you here to laugh at
me?”
The figure did not move forward. Did not smile. Nothing answered but the soft scrape of a shoe on tile and the
slight catch of the air, enough to make Linda’s anger falter and leave a new, colder fear in its place.
“YXou're one of those mocking me, a-aren’t you?” She still asked shakingly.
The person's voice was sharp, mocking. “For a smart girl, you're being really stupid right now. I just told you,
she’s everything that’s wrong with my life as well, and you still think I'm on her side?”
Linda blinked, caught off guard by the sudden outburst.
“I don’t get it,” she began, confused.
“It doesn’t matter,” the person cut her off, stepping closer. “Not everyone in this school likes Nnenna. You and |
are two of the few who don’t.”
“I don’t believe you,” Linda shot back. “Aren't you her—"
“No, I'm not,” the person interrupted coolly. “And right now, | can either waste tproving that to you, or | can
help you, help us deal with the real problem.”
Linda hesitated, her heart racing. “What problem?”
“The one who's been standing in our way,” the person said darkly. “The one who's been a thorn in both our
sides.”
Her eyes narrowed. “What do you have in mind?”

Linda felt a chill crawl up her spine. “Why do you want to set her back?” she asked, voice low. She needed to
understand this person’s motive, just in case this was a trap.
“That's none of your business,” the person snapped.
“No,” Linda said, forcing herself to stay calm despite the fear prickling her skin. “If I'm going to cooperate with
you, | need to know why.”
The air between them grew heavy. The person tilted their head slightly, eyes glinting.

“What exactly do you plan to do to her?” Linda asked.
“All | want is for her to get out of my way.” The person sounded calm, dangerous.
“You sound like you hate her so much you want to kill her,” Linda said, picking up on the tone.
“You better stop saying things you don’t know,” the person warned. “They might be your last words. As for what |

“No.” Linda's reply was quick. “I feel like you're going to getin trouble. I'll figure things out myself. | always
