Chapter 1038:
Dorian looked at her back, his eyes heavy with hesitation. “It’s good to see you doing well. It puts my mind at
ease.”
Regina’s fingers clenched without thinking, memories of their past flooding her mind. Dorian had loved her for
thirty years, always the same. Even his obsessive care for Yolanda was an extension of his love for her.
A wave of sadness hit Regina, and she wanted to scold him, but she couldn’t bring herself to be that harsh. She
said quietly, her voice thick with emotion, “Dorian, you're lucky. After everything you've done, Alicia still lets you
be a grandfather.”
Tears streamed down Dorian’s face as his heart felt like it was shattering. He slumped down weakly, burying his
face in his hands and sobbing.
Alicia never saw Dorian return. She later found out he had quietly left.
The dishes on the table had gone cold, and Caden called the manager to bring fresh ones.
Alicia stopped him. “It’s fine. We can just eat like this.” She wasn’t hungry either.
But Caden insisted on having warm food, and once it was served, he gently urged her to try a little bit of
everything. Not wanting to worry him, Alicia ate more than she felt like.

As they left the restaurant, Regina pulled Caden aside for a quick chat. She mentioned the heart chip and
reminded him to take extra care of Alicia.
Caden said, “Regina, after the baby’s born, you should move back to Warrington.”
Regina was taken aback. His words left her overwhelmed with happiness. “Is that really okay?”
Caden nodded. “It's fine. I'll talk to Alicia about it.”
Alicia sat in the car, watching them from a distance. Caden, usually so confident and sure of himself, was
standing there with his head slightly bowed in front of Regina, listening intently and acting unusually humble.
The weight in Alicia's heart slowly lifted, and a gentle smile tugged at her lips.
After seeing Regina off, Caden got back in the car.
Alicia grinned and asked, “What did you two talk about?”
With his usual handssmile, Caden replied, “She said I'm the perfect son-in-law.”
Alicia laughed. “I knew you'd say that.” She could always tell what he was going to say the moment he opened
his mouth.
Seeing that Alicia wasn’t in the best mood, Caden took her for a walk by the sea after dinner.
