Chapter 596 "Mommy, why hasn't Mr. Pritchett cto seelately?" Rosie's sudden question caught Noelle off guard. She paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "He's been really busy lately, so he can't find the tto come." Rosie let out a soft "oh" and continued swinging. Her movements were gentle, and Noelle sat quietly beside her, watching.

But after a while, Rosie suddenly hopped off the swing and ran over to Noelle, tightly grabbing her hand. Noelle was puzzled, but still she hugged her quickly. "What's wrong?" Rosie didn't say a word, her eyes fixed straight ahead. It was then Noelle noticed the man standing there.

It was early autumn in Stormridge, and the man was dressed in a crisp, well- tailored suit. His tall, slender figure and strikingly handsface instantly drew the attention of several people in the apartment complex.

It was a weekday, and most of the people playing with the children downstairs were their grandparents. Their gazes were anything but subtle, openly sweeping over Hendrix with unabashed curiosity.

Noelle couldn't help but frown.

Sure enough, someone soon noticed who Hendrix was staring intently at and asked her, "Noelle, is he a friend of yours? He's quite handsome. Does he have a girlfriend?" Noelle took a deep breath and replied, "No, he's actually my ex-husband." The old woman's voice immediately caught in her throat.

Noelle smiled at her. "He's probably single. Why do you ask? Are you thinking of setting him up? He has plenty of women around him, so don't trouble yourself." The old woman quickly understood the implication and pursed her lips. "Figures. Men like him always attract trouble with women." Noelle merely smiled in response. Then, without another word, she picked Rosie up and walked straight toward Hendrix.

Rosie had been growing quickly lately and was already close to 30 pounds. Noelle's weight, on the other hand, had remained the same, so when Hendrix saw her carrying Rosie, it looked as though she might topple over at any moment.

He wanted to step forward and help her, but Noelle stopped a few yards away from him. "Are you here for me?" Hendrix simply nodded.

"Let's go. I'll treat you to a meal," Noelle said.

Although they were at her apartment building, she clearly had no intention of inviting him upstairs. Without waiting for a response, she walked ahead, still carrying Rosie.

Hendrix followed behind her. After a moment of hesitation, he couldn't hold back any longer and thus. asked, "Can't you let Rosie walk on her own? Aren't you tired of Carrying her?" Rosie had been resting her head obediently on Noelle's shoulder.

Upon hearing what Hendrix said, she stiffened slightly, then whispered to Noelle, "Mommy, I can walk by myself." en "It's fine. I'm not tired." "I want to walk by myself. You just need to hold my hand, Mommy," Rosie insisted.

Noelle knew she had taken Hendrix's words to heart. She didn't arguem further and simply set Rosie down. "I can carry you if you want," Hendrix offered hesitantly.

But Rosie didn't even spare him a glance. She simply held onto Naelle's hand as they walked forward together. Hendrix, who had bent down slightly, froze in place.

Finally, Noelle turned to him and said, "She's fine. Let's keep going. We're almost there."

Although Noelle had offered to treat him to a meal, that didn't mean she wanted to be around him longer than necessary, so she chose a nearby restaurant.
