Chapter 518 Hendrix remembered the scene from the last night when he stood on the balcony, watching Rosie smile and wave goodbye to Dylan. To be honest, the three of them looked incredibly good together, almost as if they were a real family.

At this moment, if he wasn't mistaken, this was the first tRosie had spoken to him on her own initiative. Yet, what she said was she didn't want to see him.

Hendrix wanted to retort that this was his house, so why couldn't he be here? But when he met Rosie's eyes, he swallowed back his words.

Then, he simply replied, "Okay." His response was straightforward, but Rosie didn't seem to think much of it. She merely nodded in satisfaction and went downstairs to find Noelle.

Hendrix watched her retreating figure, his hands clenching involuntarily.

It wasn't until the ache in his chest becunbearable that he finally snapped out of it and slowly made his way downstairs.

Beatrice was already in the living room. When she saw him, she immediately called out, "Go and have sbreakfast." "No, it's okay," Hendrix replied as he headed toward the door. "I have smatters to attend to, so I'll get going now." "At least have sbreak-" Before Beatrice could finish, Hendrix had already walked out of the door.

Her words caught in her throat, and she turned to look toward the dining room where both Noelle and Rosie were.

Hendrix had missed the opportunity from last night, and now, he was letting the chance of eating together with Noelle and Rosie slip away again! Beatrice felt a mix of frustration and helplessness, but there was nothing she could do. So, she entered the dining room by herself instead.

"Hendrix has left already," Beatrice said abruptly.

Noelle was peeling an egg for Rosie. It took her a few seconds to realize Beatrice was speaking to her. She looked up, her eyes questioning whether the words were directed at her.

Beatrice frowned slightly.

Only then did Noelle respond dryly, "Oh?" Beatrice couldn't help but sigh. "His stomach's been acting up for the past couple of years because he works nonstop. I made him stay over last night, but even after all that, he still won't take better care of himself." She spoke at length, but Noelle simply blinked and said, "Don't worry. Ms. Rhett will surely take good care of him in the future." Beatrice was stunned at her words.

Feeling she had probably misspoken, Noelle quickly clarified, "His new girlfriend is called Ms. Rhett, right?" Beatrice couldn't help but laugh, but it was a laugh of utter helplessness.

"Yes, her last nis Rhett, but there's no saying their relationship is going to last." "I think Ms. Rhett is quite nice." "Do you now?"

At this point, Beatrice couldn't sit still any longer. She stood up and said) "You two enjoy your meal. I'll step out for a bit." "Okay." Noelle remained calm throughout, or perhaps it was better described as indifferent.

Beatrice tried to detect even the slightest hint of emotion on her face, om but there was nothing. It was as if NO Noelle were an outsider, completely unaffected by Hendrix's health or his new relationship. It was only then that Beatrice began to wonder if she had been wrong all along, for it seemed like Noelle had genuinely moved on.

After all, only someone who no longer cared would stop paying attention to Hendrix's health or his relationship status, as those things had nothing to do with her anymore.
